New Effects & Detailed Cockpits Coming in Tusk Force!

Very cool, most excited for the Fokker G.I cockpit and those tree and fire effects look awesome!

Crazy how trees got more accurate damage models than APHE does

Good thing everyone can switch to ULQ.

So everyone has to play with the game looking like a early 2000s game to be competitive and you are suggesting this in a thread about making the game look better…

Maybe instead they should just change ULQ to not be so OP

No one is forcing you to play on ULQ.
If you’re upset about the unfair advantage, we should look at the both ends of the spectrum and also stop people from using high refresh rates and resolutions, as those impact performance as well.

Nerfing one without the other has zero logic from balance standpoint.

Something finaly great for the Tusk Force. However, what is the purpose of fuel dumping for the Sukhoi aircraft?

Gaijin I demand an explanation!
For the half a decade Volumetric Clouds being broken:

  • client side
  • broken rendering of planes in front of the clouds
  • ultra darkness under certain weather + datetime conditions

And you are working on yet another iteration of: fire, smoke trails, cockpits, trees destruction (wait, is this feature is still fully server side? no mention!)

I’m surprised they still spend time doing those.
It’s pretty much only relevant in Sim and that mode has negligible amount of players.

will it finally fix trees stuck on tank when you ran over it? its annoying as hell

Realistically they would fall in the direction the tank is driving to, so trees rn are unrealistic anyway.

Guys, great work on the new effects, but you know the stump doesn’t just pop out of the ground right?

Any chance the Ta 154 could get an updated cockpit soon, too?

I’d love to buy and fly that plane but the cockpit is a massive turn off unfortunately. It’s honestly the primary reason behind which planes I fly a few times and which ones I main, after all!

Funny how you’ll go into the files and change the smoke trails for missiles but won’t remove them for missiles that are smokeless

no but its very much meta to do so. I have grass off for a reason

while yes a 144hz screen is blatantly better than a 60hz screen youre only being fed a new frame somewhere in the ballpark of ELEVEN MILLISECONDS faster. Considering that humans themselves have a couple hundred milliseconds of input lag themselves that really isnt that big a deal.

almost everyone is on a bare minimum of a full HD screen, 1920x1080P resolution (this includes me), while 4K is better the benefit given is still small.

Turning shadows to a minumum, no grass, no particles and pretty much nothing else to make tank silhouettes more obvious however IS a massive advantage.

the graphical requirement for minimum graphics of this game are so low that my mid range phone could theoretically render it at a competent framerate. minimum settings should be brought up to accomodate the lower end of modern hardware. not the Vista machine on life support while finally burying this exploit forever.

One final thing, the first Processor i had in my first and only pc (Ryzen 5 5600G) could run Battlefield 1 on min settings 1080p at a steady 50FPS, this was on its integrated graphics with 8gb of Ram. get real

I hope this fixes the problem of seeing them at all. Very often you can’t see the thick smoke trail of a missile from your mate shooted 3km beneath you, while you can see always a thin stall vapor line 15km away.

when Z10 Cockpit ?

Or instead of stopping a number of people from playing due to upgrading requirements you could force the user to run a benchmark or something (which we already have in game) and if it recommends something higher than ULQ for 60 FPS you should lock them out of it

That could work. Though I also dont think that bushes or grass that are just a flat vector would have all that big of an impact on performance. Surely they could eliminate the OP nature of ULQ without actually giving up all that much performance for anyone that actually needs ULQ

Honestly they do, only this year I got a high end PC (technically budget but shh) and I used to play on a few craptops throughout the years, minimum everything at 720p resolution, grass could be the difference between 25 - 30 FPS, and while thats not a lot, combine it with a few other 2 - 5 fps improvements and it could be the differences between 10 and 30 which make it very playable :)

So last updates RAH66 was a rushed addition?
