Namer armor

All of the armor behind the 10mm plate is completely missing thats why it can probably be overpressure

Imagine the faces of the Israeli engineers when they found out that they spent millions of dollars when they could have used Russian wood in their armor…

Well, there are many faults with this vehicle’s modelling, but this is not one of them: there’s a fuel tank and power system in there.

This whole part is external, hence the “external fuel tanks”. Watch as the back and glacis side armor converge:

Basically, the 10mm cover is just an external sponson and it has no impact on survivability.

As far as I can see, the shapes and modelling is correct for the most part; the main issue is how underestimated the resistance of the composite materials is. Same issue as with Merkava.

Sometimes I wish I could just call up the IDF and ask them for a tour of these vehicles lmao

I hate how badly they’re represented.

So many inaccuracies, most of them minor, some of them annoying such as side-armor for Namer.

If it was 300mm thick it would be extremely heavy for a hatch, it must definitely be hollow.

I never said it was 300 mm. What I can assure you is that it’s not 30 mm.
On the other hand, it’s the most exposed part of the IFV and it’s not a single piece of metal either. It’s probably composite and spaced armor. Anyway, in the game, it’s modeled as a 30 mm metal sheet.
Think about it, this IFV weighs over 60 tons and doesn’t have a turret… Do you think it’s not armored? Or does its weight come from the air between the thin metal plates?

This time we agree, dear Razer, especially because those sides have a very good angle of inclination.
This vehicle should be hard to kill… What’s the point of making a “light” IFV with the same protection as other IFVs but much heavier and slower than them…?

This feels like the Abrams “extra weight for no benefit” except turned up to its literal max. I’m honestly impressed by how many people brought this up and then seeing nothing come of it (between when it was added on the dev server and the update)

Yeah, I made a post about it and they removed it for “inciting riot” or something idk.

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve had this happen today…

Watch as this is the only thing they ever change in the vehicle, so you can enjoy your already limited ammo burning

I died more from these weak points than from the explosion from the ammunition, on the other side there is exactly the same weak point, autocannons can take you out really easily on this level

what a shit show

gaijin treatment for Israel tech trees … same with the aircraft tree

whats new.

Gaijin failing to model armour is nothing new.
I did all the work for gaijin regarding patria amv gen 1 armour with evidence yet they completely fucked it up, dont expect much.

And people still call this game realistic while modelling a simple thing isn’t achievable anymore, 60 tons of plastic lmao gaijin’s logic.

Honestly, what the hell?

Autocanon rounds stored on an external case located outside the vehicle on a remote controlled station… on top of a 30mm RHA plate covered by a 120mm thick composite module…

…somehow destroy the vehicle over “ammunition load burnt out”?

Isn’t the whole point of keeping the gun and ammo outside the tank on an unmanned turret system to, you know… increase survivability?

EDIT: “Namer 30 — a bug that led to the fatal detonation of the external ammunition for the gun has been fixed. A bug where the gun did not jam when overheated has been fixed.”

That was oddly quick, nice!
