It does! By work, i mean the ability to turn on the system at all, lots of issues on that area. when the system does turn on, it works most of the time :)

the only reason they dont activate anthenas at all time its cuz the radio frequency can be detected and located by the enemy not because it can cause cancer, the radio frequency of radio anthenas its too low to even generate cancer at long term because the RF its a form of non ionizing radiation
radar antennas use a form of RF to work they dont emit ionizing radiation as i already said they dont provoke cancer by any means
