the AH-60 and the Merkava 4 have a few things going for them.
Firstly the AH-60 gets 16 spikes and they almost always hit helicopters. It’s insanely good at that.
Secondly, the Merkava 4 might not have the armor it should, but similarly to the T-80 series, it doesn’t get slow in bad terrain. This means the Merkava 4 gets around much better than the Leopards and Abrams.
Interesting, I have always had the opposite experience. Once you get the mobility modifications on the Abrams it gets around a bit better than the Merkava.
The M1A2 that doesn’t carry Tusk is actually okay.
Maybe I have been playing Challenger for a long time, so in fact, I can accept the manoeuvrability of Mercava 4 and Abrams (without Tusk).Xd
And both are spaded with full driving skill on the crew?
Because i have a couple 100 battles in both and I definitely feel that even the M1A2s without TUSK still beat the Merkava Mk.4s in mobility on rough terrain.
But my Leopards are spaded with a Max crew and they’re definitely slower.
And I’m not saying the Merkava outruns the Abrams, but it turns better without losing speed. The reason for this is the same reason the T-80 runs around without caring about terrain.
Both the Merkava and T-80 don’t have a ground pressure nerf like the Leopard and Abrams as far as I can tell while using both.
It looks like you’ll probably still lose your entire vehicle if you hit the ammunition
I have the feeling that they removed the fix with subsequent updates
Just got a nuke with the thing, unlocked it a few hours ago. I had only just gotten the darts and they made all the difference. This thing can be quite potent hull down and is an assist master. I haven’t even unlocked thermals, mobility mods, or the horizontal turret drive mod. Also got 2 spike kills, I would say they have a 25% kill rate in my experience, given all 4 usually kill one person.
Either way, just imagine what it could do with realistic armor and more ammunition, mwahaha!
Nuke doesn’t mean the vehicle is good, Oddbawz even got a nuke on the Tortoise, but it still doesn’t mean it’s good, the vehicle has a lot of problems and you can turn it off super easily, even if the turret is just sticking out, either Mg you its Ammunition or just shoot them, he can’t do anything anymore, with the others you can at least take cover quickly and after a while you’ll have ammunition ready again, with the Namer you’ll be completely out of combat unless you get new ones. Even all the holes in the front hull are such big weakspots that you can easily take out the entire crew with a few shots from any autocannon and the fact that there is still a chance of taking out the entire vehicle with one shot of ammunition really doesn’t make it any better.
its an quite potent hull down machine, unless your enemy knows where is your ammo, if they hit it youre just useless for the team until you go into a cap zone, good job tho
Yep ik, the side armor especially is pathetic. I’m not saying it’s fine, or that it’s good. Just saying it’s currently viable. I would love to see it get realistic armor and go up in br soon. (But gaijin is gaijin, that ain’t gonna happen anytime soon now is it)
Sidenote, keeping the turret moving in a horizontal fashion tends to make hitting critical components quite hard.
I just came up with an evil idea yesterday. After I got my nuke I decided to plaster my turret with a crap ton of bushes… mwahahah! I haven’t tried it out yet, but we’ll see how that goes >:)
Ingame, the breeches are made of RHA, and some are 400mm thick. A prime example is the exposed breech of the low tier tank 2, be 1.7 Swedish SPH. Forget the name but you’ll see what I’m talking about.
