Namer armor is still missing

Whoa there buddy you’re asking for too much from gaijin

Best they can do is increasing the mass of the Merkava and Namer to 80t without any change in protection

Something something, 30mm autocannon resistant…

Heh silly you’re not in a Russian vehicle what did you expect to happen? Everyone knows namers are not 30mm resistance in real life right? whatever you heard about it is just marketing lies

There’s a spot on the upper front right-hand side of the hull too.

It’s absolutely outrageous how gaijin butchered both the Namer’s and the Eitan, they’re missing so much armor, they should be so much more competitive, these 3 tanks should be capable to rival the BMPT’s. But no, of course gaijin nerfs them to the ground and refuses to resolve the issue! This is unacceptable!

And their response to the community outcry? Their answer is basically “Oh yeah our Devs know it’s wrong, they’re aware of the problem, but we don’t care, and we’re not gonna fix it.” Even though the community provided plenty of valid sources that clearly go over the issue! But they’re not russian tanks! So they don’t care!

If you’re associating this text with the image of my Eitan bug report above, that’s not how that is at all. The replie to my Eitan report show it was passed as a suggestion (read their attached link to see how they handle reports like mine), since my report is based entirely on visual estimations and promotional material, and not direct sourcing. Basically they look at what I’ve suggested, and can either agree or disagree, there isn’t really a right or wrong there since it’s not a direct source to prove or disprove either (but ofc I do think I’m right with my report, even if they seem to think differently)

I hope they fix the armor for both namer’s and the Eitan and let them either carry atleast 8 spikes or give them ammo boxes

It should be the most armoured IFV in the world. I’m not even a fan but I’m sure even the top hatch was 200mm thick IIRC in a Youtube walk & talk through. 60 ton IFV nothing to dismiss. The whole roof on the Namer was designed to take RPG hits from above in urban combat IIRC.
It’s at least 200mm volumetric of composite or RHA on the entire top shell.

The whole reason they can make an IFV that heavy is because they are a defence force that doesn’t need to worry about bridge loading and train transport.

200mm is the bare minimum and by the looks of the photo’s it’s even more but Gaijin Dev’s always seem to sabotage a good portion of everything that isn’t Russian and if you complain they just gaslight you and ignore your photos plain for everyone to see. Imagine the arrogance to ignore the manufacturers own metrics on their own products and make it company policy.

30mm? This machine is build to withstand modern rpg round lol

It’s 64 tons. It Should be The heaviest armored ifv in the game. A 30 mm shouldn’t even be able to pen it from the side.Though I have no sources to back that. We can use common sense and public info/photos that the namer being a merkava mk4 chassis and retaining the same weight as a Merkava mk4 without the turret should be very heavily armored on its hull internally and externally.

Gaijin has double standards for nations that aren’t Russian. They use paper ships that were never built. And were given missiles that were only mock ups. But gaijin can’t accept or implement things for nato nations or MNNA nations that have sources that prove capabilities. The merks have been sitting and waiting for armor rework for 3 years now.( i asked @Smin1080p_WT recently about the merks armor report and he has implied that it’s still only being considered after the report has been asked about for the last 3 years) The namers cant get any report accepted for their armor because gaijin doesn’t want to finish modeling it. (Even though there is visual evidence showcasing the namers are very much modeled wrong) the spyder has multiple reports that have been accepted for nearly a year for it being absolutely botched and incorrect. (I pulled those out for people to look at in spyder-general discussion for anyone that wants to look) and let’s not even get started on the Eitan, It’s in the same boat as the rest of botched Israel line up. It’s absolutely astonishing the lengths gaijin will go through to make sure Russia stays dominant in every category or gets things modeled damn near perfectly.

The recently added Eitan (P) also has a very similar problem! like look at the rear door of the Eitan,
how is it only 20mm thick? the door is clearly a lot thicker than that, it simply doesn’t make sence!

you can see how thick the door is! i don’t understand why gaijin nerfed so badly the israeli tanks.
i’m not accepting this, the Namer’s, Merkava Mk. 4 and the Eitan, are so terribly modeled.

Not sure about the left gap, but the right one is correct, as it is the radiator intake

But in war thunder the namer has no radiator! XD
Check the namer in game right now, it doesn’t have a radiator modeled, and also, you can see that the are of the radiator “hole” has armor, it’s not just a massive open gap.

Gaijin did just messed up.

It doesnt really matter, the radiator is still there irl.

This is the nammer engine bay, you can see that the gaps are still there , and also the gap on the left side of the hull, it’s geometry may not be correct but the do have those gaps on the side armour

The geometry to both holes in the side are very wrong though. The hole for the radiator is enormous and has sharp corners when in the images it is smaller and has rounded corners, and the gap opposite of it is just also made massive for some reason.
