The Nakidka cape is a type of camouflage that helps reduce the tanks heat signature. With more IR guided fire and forget missiles being added, this is desperately needed. The Nakidka cape will not only make a tank harder to see with thermals sights, but also make IR guided weapons harder to lock and easier to lose sight of.
Here are two images of T-90M with a Nakidka cape, the thermal signature has been reduce by a large margin.
Several tanks in game already Barracuda MCS such as the Leopard 2A4M CAN, Challenger 2 TES, Vextra 105 etc however they don’t reduce heat signature and as far as I am aware, Gaijin has no plans to implement that mechanic.
These wouldn’t stop an IR ATGM from tracking you. They might make you harder to spot but if the ATGM is on its way then it’s already too late.
There are many vehicles missing similar systems, it’s not limited to Russian vehicles.
Looks good, but as far as functionality i’d like it to be identical to barracuda and equivalent thermal netting systems for the time being, top tier doesn’t need to become any more braindead than it already is
Been a touch over a year, but it was passed to devs, so there might be plans, since it seems most of the time the suggestion mods wont pass something the devs have no interest in.
Significantly reduced IR signature would also likely drop the lock range of the missiles, so the helicopter would need to get closer to the battlefield to fire (if it would be able to acquire a lock at all), putting it in much higher risk and also pulling it away from the heliport, increasing their turn around time. Irrelevant for the current “top tier” jokes we have as SPAA that are unable to meaningfully threaten the new magic forcefield helis with no doppler signature(great job devs, everyone sure loves being beat over the head by no skill heli players point and clicking everything with no risk to themselves), but will increase the threat of SACLOS systems atleast…
Beautiful is certainly a way I would not use to describe what looks like couch cushions wrapped in garbage bags growing mold from being outside too long, duct taped to assorted russian vehicles…
Yes, you hate Russia, now cope with that.
What else are you going to say? That Russian tanks use air conditioning chips? What you’re saying is irrelevant to me and to the topic.
