More prototype tanks Gaijin could add?

one i want added into the game is the T37 light tank that was intended to replace the chaffee

as far as i know there were 3 built so gaijin COULD technically add this into the game, either event or tech tree. (they are adding a prototype t44 into the game so y’know why not. plus also the HO-RI proto and production exists in the game when they aren’t even real.)

there’s an issue with US ground that it literally has almost no 4.0 tanks in the game, i’d like to see how the T37 could maybe by any chance go into 4.0-4.7 (my opinion) obviously also balancing it. depends on how gaijin would do this.

as from what i know the armor should be somewhat similar to the Chaffee but higher mobility and more powerful gun (76mm), it had great armor,

taken from its historical page the Upper front plate was 25mm (Angled at 60 degrees, 50mm Effectiveness) Lower front plate was 32mm (Angled at 45 degrees, 45mm Effectiveness) Hull sides we’re 19-25mm. the Hull rear was 19mm

The Turret front armor was 32mm (at 55 degrees, 55mm Effectiveness) The mantlet armor was 25 to 32mm, Turret armor on both sides we’re 25mm and the turret rear was 25mm

this thing could also shoot 12 rounds per minute historically. It has -9/+20 of gun depression and elevation

Armed with the dangerous 76mm T94 gun, Rounds had a muzzle velocity of 2600 (792 m/s) for AP (or and APCBC with explosive filler if it had it) I’m unsure of HE

The T37 is powered by the Continental AOS-895-1 engine (air-cooled six cylinder supercharged 8,2 liter engine) providing 500 gross horsepower at 2800 RPM making its top speed 41 miles per hour (66 km/h)

Aswell as that the T37 Weighed 21,9 tons. i would love to see this in the game or the Phase II variant that is the T41 (T37 just Phase II)

Phase II had a few changes
Gun was the T91 76mm (Still had the same 12 rounds per minute aswell as the same depression and elevation.
Turret looked a bit different.
Its weight went up by 1,5 making it 23,4 tons instead of 21,9
everything else was about the same.

i think these both were stabilized aswell, This also ended up becoming the well known M41A1.

Maybe the T41 should be put into tech tree and T37 as an event or battlepass vehicle. but that is Gaijin’s decision.

Let me know down below on other prototype tanks you’d like to see in War Thunder i’m curious so please do tell!

I kinda find it ridiculous that you go from 3.7 to 6.0 in light tank lineup. that’s why i made this post, but also being curious to what anyone else would want.

also want to mention something i did not mention in the post. the T41 and T37 had 4 crew members.

Make actual suggestions then

a suggestion on the T41 was already made and is still suggested since December 24th 2024 (you can find it here: T41 light tank: stabilized Bulldog). i will avoid making a duplicate suggestion. but thanks for the idea of making an actual suggestion

if HO RI is allowed despite never leaving blueprints bring back Panther 2 but accurate to its design.

FV215 too

M48A4 105mm testbed

Agreed!, same with the Tiger II 10,5 Cm

no. the Panther 2 was actually partly built. the tiger 105 wasn’t because it was physically impossible to do

i mean that tiger II could be the E75, since it was essentially just a Tiger II but way larger to fit the 105mm

but youre maybe right since i dont know if it was built.

E75 wasnt built. there was a panther 2 and E100 hull built before surrender though. No other E series tanks have had any parts found at all

we do have a place full of vehicles like this. Its called the Suggestions section of the forum.

Plans where made for the Tiger with a 10,5cm L/68 upgrade and you can actually find some documents on it. But it unfortunatly never left the paper.

Don’t know if this was part of the Entwicklung Series (aka E-series) tho. Since the E-75 as mentioned above me, where plans for a upgraded hull with extra roadwheels for the added weight and a completely different turret to house a bigger gun.

Appart from a prototype E-100 hull without a turret (turret in game has the wrong gun btw), a slightly improved panther 2 hull and the hull of a prototype Geschützwagen tiger. Non of the E series ever left the paper.

E-100 Hull

E-100_Under_Inspection

Upgraded panther hull
(Panther G turret with 88mm gun, turret and hull got matched post war. Correct me if i’m wrong)

And not to forget the Geschützwagen Tiger
-Was supposed to get a 170mm K72 L/50
-Weight estimated between 53 and 59 tons
-Project was close to completion before being found by british soldiers in Haustenbeck north Germany 1945

I got off topic…
But yea tiger with a 10,5 could make a possible return if they add the right version.
And otherwise a 170mm tiger 2 based howitser/artillery would be a nice replacement

Also panther 2 could return if they changed it to the currect turret/gun
And flakpanzer 341 could maybe return since they put a wooden mock up turret on a panther hull?

If the picuters don’t work, i’ll repost this when i get home :)

They build 6 3,7 cm Flak 341 guns.

Didn’t know they actually build some tbh. Always thought that they only made full scare wooden mock-up turrets and that the project got put on a back burner due to the lack of hulls

The guns, not the vehicle. They were basically longer barreled, belt feed Flak 43.

Sorry mb, i’m at work, took a peek and read it incorrect.

But yeah if the guns existed they should just add it back in right away.
