The only MiG-29 we got recently, is a copy and paste MiG-29 passed to the devs for Israel lol, it’s a 9.12A…
Today is May 21st, and there’s not much time left before the major update trailer drops. Come on, Gaijin—please add this aircraft to the Russian tech tree!
Adding this with ability to carry R-77-1 plus pre sons of atilla FM for the fulcrum would be a dream come true
I dont think it would be compatible with the R-77-1 sadly. The longest range missile it could theoretically get, in my opinion, would be the R-27EA. If the EA isnt added the regular R-77 will be the best it could get for ARHs
Isn’t the only difference between the R77 and R77-1 the two stage motor? I thought all R77 carrying planes in game are R77-1 compatible but gaijin hasn’t given them it for balance reasons
IRL the OG R-77 actually never entered service with the RuAF, they went straight for the R-77-1.
And no the R-77-1 and R-77 have the same motor I think, the main difference is lofting, which increases range, as well as some aerodynamic modifications.
For a better answer you can check the R-77 forum page
no the r-77-1 is a bit longer and has a different motor, or atleast nozzle
r-77-1:
and the base r-77 is also able to loft
The old R-77-1 in the files had a 2 stage motor.
But when they added it to the live build, they changed it to a bit longer burning 1 stage motor like the R-77’s. There’s also some extra thrust that accounts for the extra weight, so they still accelerate about the same.
R-77 - 6 second single stage motor, 129.94 ms² acceleration
R-77-1 - 7 second single stage motor, 128.16 ms² acceleration
so the russian air force never used the normal R77? might aswell replace the R77 in game with the R77-1 then
but that would be rUsSiAn bIaS
apparently lol, Su-27sm radar is to dogshit to take advantage of the missiles ability to compete in the bvr arnea, SMT has a decent radar but 6 missiles max will hurt it in bvr, su 34 can be a much stronger plane if it gets the R77-1 with its good radar set and can take good advantage of them
What I have info so R-77 entered service in 1994 and R-77-1 in 2011 (development began in 2003).
If you want historical accuracy then Russian aircraft should be restricted to R-27, because that’s still what’s used the majority of the time.
Wouldn’t be restricted to R-27’s, would have the choice of R-77’s and/or R-27’s. Which is how it is ingame. Its what the custom loadout system is for.
It would also have the r73, because that is what they used the majority of the time
Well, yes it did enter service, but was limited in numbers due to the low funding that Vympel had at the time
Ive been backtracking the forums abit - so dont be surprised you get a reply for something this long in the past.
But afaik only the MiG-29M 9.61s are equipped with MAWS.
That MAWS was later taken as a modular upgrade on the MiG-35
From Yefim Gordon’s “Mikoyan MiG-29 Fulcrum”
Seems that the 29M (9.15) did in fact have a MAWS
thanks for the info, although im surprised they managed to fit a Mak-F into a MiG-29 airframe lmao
How many cms does the 2005 version of this plane get
