No I meant the Germans. We all know the Russians are on a budget… The Germans are capable of upgrading Mig29s. I mean they brought them up to NATO standard, didn’t they? It’s just an obsolete aircraft. There is no future in them.

Additionally, Russia has no intention of further developing this “Mig35” or any aircraft based on the Mig29 platform. No one wants to buy them, and it makes zero sense when there is a superior platform that has much future sustainability, longer range and one of the most aerodynamically perfect designs known to man.

The Flanker will be flying just as long as F15EX. But for China.

Development of MiG-35 is already finished… Russia already has serial production MiG-35S in service

Yes, they made how many and stopped. They are not producing anymore. It’s like the 1983 DeLorean. Cool car. But no one wanted it.

Because the EFT was already around the corner - a jet that’s significantly better for their doctrine, and in much greater number. Spending money on modernising ~22 or so MiG-29A’s they had would’ve proved to be a waste of time, especially since those aircraft belonged to JG 71 if I remember correctly - the wing that was also the first to receive the Eurofighter.

Why upgrade an aircraft that is much worse as is and offers no benefits what’so’ever, everything that MiG-29 could do, the EFT did better, and was capable of stuff that their MiG-29s weren’t without performing deep modernisations.

They extensively tested them, and judged that keeping and modernising them to modern standards wasn’t beneficial - taking into the account the costs it would inccur, and the post-CW situation in Germany with gigantic budget slashes on pretty much everything (they were even debating if acquring the Eurofighter was worth it, and came pretty close to just leaving the program in the late 1990s).

Agreed

However, the deck versions are operated.Egypt, Algeria have purchased export versions Moreover, China is making a new carrier-based aircraft of the Mig-35 dimension. The advantage of the mig is its size, cheap operation and prompt maintenance

Did he just… selectively read a part of my post, ignored the whole explanation as to why the Germans & Luftwaffe saw no benefit in keeping the MiG around, and went “agreed” because that one part suit his narrative?

Now the purchase of this or that weapon is more a policy than a real choice of the best

Talk about entitled. If that’s your way of arguing, even I can agree with MiG-23M here (despite the fact I’ve disagreed with him on a lot of topics, or more like, all).

This is actually funny.

I did not know about that interesting. I will look into that. You may be right.

Egytp,Algeria decided to buy Mig29M from Russia.

According to Ziggy it shouldnt be possible since Mig29 is obsolete against anything on the market xd.

beautiful.

Go on, make my day.

What?! Panther bro.

Well, why did Algeria cancel their SMT order? Hmmm? lets start there.

Probably found out they can buy Flankers instead lol.

It’s like talking to those McDonald karens that think they’re God’s chosen children, who are always in the right, ignore correct information, and follow only their basic insticts by seeking out what they want to hear.

Tbh, he’s gotten even more arrogant than he had been on the old forum where he kept flooding the R&R thread.
