Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 Fulcrum - History, Design, Performance & Dissection

so the Su-27 and Su-34 are the same because there isnt as much of a performance difference between them?

so you are saying the Mig-23BN is different from the Mig-23ML great to hear

you have zero clue about soviet fighters

you have proven that multiple times already, just shut up instead of making a clown out of yourself

There are far more extensive modifications on the Su-34 though. I wouldn’t count the F-15E’s record separate to the A/B/C/D’s record

The 29As motto was essentailly

Get in ASAP - destroy target - get out ASAP

It has awful loitering and range capability because it doesnt need them.
Its supposed to destroy targets fast and return to base fast - not to loiter in the sky and wait for a mission to appear (like F16 patrols would for example)

The F-16 has a pretty similar combat radius to the MiG-29 afaik. 400nm F-16 vs 430nm

THE MIG-23BN IS A COMPLETLY REINFORCED AIRFRAME WITH REDESIGNED INTERNALS AND FRONT SECTION

JUST LIKE THE SU-34 TO THE SU-27

I ADVISE YOU AGAIN

i guess the extra ton of fuel the Mig-23BN can carry comes out of thin air

So they beefed it up a bit and changed some internals with some changes to the front part of the aircraft, still not to same degree as the Su-34, it’s closer to F-15C vs E

Dawg its 1100km max range vs 4000km max range

what are you talking about

what is the primary role of the Mig-23ML?

i will help you since you seem to not know

Interceptor/ Fighter

Max range is meaningless it just means the farthest it can go loaded up with a many drop tanks as possible and maybe CFT depending on the F-16. Infact I bet the max range you said for the MiG is without external tanks

so range was only important until you were proven wrong

man you should check your butt for splinters with all the fence sitting you are doing

Yeah and the MiG-23BN official role is to destroy ground targets, just like F-15C air to air and F-15E air to ground but still an F-15

the MiG-29A can only carry a small 1000L fuel tank on the center pylon

Only later MiG-29s like the 9.13 and 29G are able to equip bigger fuel tanks (MiG-29G could take 2x on the R27 pylons for example to comply with NATO requirements and loitering/patrol standards of the Luftwaffe)

Ferry range can be very very long when aerial refueling is accounted for, the combat radius is what would matter more for the loitering stuff he was talking about

the F16A isnt capable of aerial refueling (neither is the mig-29)

we are comparing 3rd gens here not multi role aircraft

either the A-7 losses count into the F-8 KDR
or the Mig-23BN loses dont count into the Mig-23M KDR
you cant have it both ways

According to what, F-16 can do aerial refueling. Here is a MiG doing it too
