Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 Fulcrum - History, Design, Performance & Dissection

Well I don’t mind if it gets it or not, it will probably be a premium or event vehicle anyways.
So it would be unlikely for it to receive Fox-3s as a 4th gen

I mean, the Flanker FM was fixed when the Su-33 was introduced, I really wish they would fix the MiG-29 FM too if they would introduce MiG-29 Sniper.

Ah yea. Hopefully. There’s so many reports of MiG-29 testing from other countries with positive results and whatnot, yet still is lackluster ingame

Time for some love for the good old 29

Not really it is missing a lot of lift at lower speeds, this becomes clear if you try to replicate an airshow of the su30, even with like 5mins of fuel

Well ofc, it’s still missing a lot of lift at low speed, but hey, it’s better than nothing, while MiG-29 still stay pretty much the same as they nerfed it last time.

We can hope ig, there was a bug report on the fm that got accepted recently

I don’t get why Gaijin doesn’t factor in common sense when changing vehicles. It’s commonly known that the MiG-29 is somewhat similar/better than the F-16 in the 1C or 2C or both.

Because they don’t have any of that

Gaijin doesn’t use common sense at all lol.
There’s many vehicles in the game that ended up unchanged in the dev server with a whole host of inaccuracies once they reach the live server.

Gaijin barely discloses the reasonings behind some of the changes they make to vehicles. Since they need to use public sources, they should share what source they used to either buff or nerf a vehicle which would avoid a lot of the confusion.

Because we have absolutely no idea how Gaijin models the flight models of aircraft ingame and what sources they use to do it.

Apparently the Flanker family before the flight model buff was using some data from the T-10 prototype… Which explains why it flew so horribly…

I’ve been saying this for awhile. Gaijin refusing to show the sources for how the model vehicles so suspicious. For example, how do they know the KH-38MT exists?

That’s the thing, no one is sure about it.
Gaijin seems to be quite secretive on purpose as well.

Do you have a link to the report?

Still waiting for news

the mig-29s engines in Warthunder are operating in peacetime thrust mode.
8350RPM is the current Engine RPM, instead of the may 10.000RPM.
(only visible on localhost and files, cause the modelling team for the cockpit got it right)

This seems like such an obvious thing that the bug report mods shouldve noticed by now multiple times over.
or in short terms - they are delibaretly ignoring this issue - probably so they can buff the 29 once a premium 29 comes out

at least thats my take

just want the weapons loadout reworked on the MiG-29 aswell, remove the R-27ER and add R-73 on the 9-12 and 9-13. give SMT R-77-1

There are videos of possible uses of the kh38mt but they cannot be posted on the forum as they are on a sensitive topic.

Their at-speed thrust is currently correct irrelevant of your claim for engine RPM.
We know its correct because of the fuel consumption as well as the thrust aligning with documents.

What’s happening is the anti-FOD device opening does not correlate with the thrust gain accurately.

Can you send them in DM please? Thanks.
