Okay, thanks for clarification
the MLD is automated iirc
Wing sweep is not automated, but the leading edge flaps become automated and there are not stick limiters that require additional pressure for override similar to MiG-29 system. A “kicker” that notifies pilot without needing to look at the cockpit panel that he is near maximum permissible AoA or G load.
Generally for a dogfight, there is a notch in which he can focus on enemy, and feel to slip the wing position into and keep it at 33 degrees. The primary focus of these changes is keeping your eye on the enemy and knowing when you are at the aircrafts limits without having to look back down at the dash.
Since it’s relevant for fixing the MiG-29 flight model, notice the AoA indicator on the right hand side using localhost. The F-16 is capable of exceeding 90 degrees angle of attack in coupled pitch - yaw - roll and then recovering (with full control the entire time) in less than 1/4 of a turn.
Obviously I am not campaigning to have the MiG-29 do the same thing, but in real life the MiG-29 was superior in post-stall handling and recovery than the F-16, the MiG-29 being fully stable and the F-16 being fully unstable. In-game the opposite is true of both, where the MiG-29 requires precarious handling of it’s AoA to prevent departure and the F-16 can put the nose wherever it wants like it’s an Su-57.
What? No only up to 6 R-27R/ER or 4 R-27R/ER + 2 R-27T/ET. Plus 4 R-73 or 2 R-73 and ECM
Maybe I was thinking max number of R-77s? Looks like you’re correct. It’s still 10 better missiles than the F-15 could carry, to include the AMRAAM.
At a turn overload of 8G, in the range from 820-1100 km / h, according to the instrument, the aircraft should accelerate, and not lose speed.Height 2000m
Su-27SK(?) Su-27SM/SM3 can carry only up to 8 R-77 + 2 R-73 .Su-33 Su-30M… Su-34 Su-35 can carry up to 8 R-27/E. Or up to 10 R-77 + R-73.
( Su-35 can 12 R-77 with dual R-77 pylon between engine. )

Blockquote
The first versions, especially the export ones, that literally had the radar of the MiG-21 and were limited to 5Gs were bad. Already with the M version the MiG-23 will out turn the phantom.
But it’s really the MiG-23Ml that brought the MiG-23 series to life. While clearly inferior to the F-14 and F-15, it allowed the Soviets in 1976 to mass produce a fighter with a well working Look/Down shot down radar and inverse monopulse seeker missiles.
So while the F-15 and the F-14 were better fighters, most of the US aircraft in the late 70s were still F4Es without a Ld/Sd radar or ir limited F-16 and until the AiM7-M even the F-15 and the F-14 lacked a SARH missile actually useful at low altitude
Not so- …on the MiG-23 mod.71/M…RIS (Lever-pulse signaling of extreme angles of attack) …
On the MiG-23M late and MiG-23ML (SOUA)…On the MiG-23MLD (SOS-Signal restriction System)…On these variants, the Overpowering of the RUS (Handle Control of the Aircraft) is provided…
The third source might be useful in bug reporting the MiG-23MLD, as I believe it’s underperforming in AoA, sustained turn rate. Do you have more information in there? Let’s move this to DM’s to avoid taking the thread further off topic.
-edit- Further testing seems to indicate MiG-23MLD is limited from 26-27 degrees AoA in 33 degree sweep. During sudden pitchup at 0.4-0.6 mach it can achieve sometimes ~30 degrees. 33 degrees is not attainable.
No…Look-A private message!
Phazotron OKB-339 never developed an advance radar for the Mig29. Because their radar did not fit. Soviets resorted to using an upgraded version of the Mig23 radar which was already completely exploited by the US. This radar was called the NO19. All Mig29 radars are derivatives of the Mig23 radar. Not only that, Adolf Tolkachev who worked at Phazotron gave the CIA all the details for the Mig29s radar & also R-23,R-24, R-33, R-27 R-60 S-300, MiG-31and Su-27.
“The Billion Dollar Spy”
The Su27 had the advanced radar. Mig29 radar was a cheap alternative in which the US already knew everything they needed to know about. Nothing impressive about it. Been reading it all day.
Have you read this history? It’s awesome.
We’d prefer you just linked the story instead of inaccurately laying it out to us… as of now it just seems like troll / bait text with the amount of inaccurate stuff you’re sharing.
What is inaccurate about it? How is it trolling? Its literally history. Because it offends you?
Thats your problem
I said the Su27 is the one with the advanced radar.
Well, as stated the N019(MP) radar was only fitted to the 9-17 SMT-1 prototypes… SMT model in-game uses N010M…
the word derivative check it out.
Additionally, you do not know a thing about it. So how do you know I am I inaccurately laying anything out? What was inaccurate with what I shared? Interesting.
Its not like I am posting magazine articles clippings from unknown Matra officials as technical sources, right?
The in-game model uses N010M so if you have a source stating otherwise I’m gonna go with that, that’s all. I’m not caught up in the conversation it seems, Where did the impression it used that radar (N019) come from?
I know this hits an emotional spot for some odd reason. But I already said many of the issues with the Mig29 radar was addressed at the time of the SMT…
Its still a derivative of the original compromised radar.
Who said or indicated the NO19 was inside the SMT? WHO?
Phasatron is the only developer and manufacturer of radars for the MiG-29
