Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 Fulcrum - History, Design, Performance & Dissection

I might write one later, should be easier than suggesting a new vehicle :)

I feel like “Maneuver mode” isnt exactly changes Instructor per say, but rather just disables some of it aspects like AOA limitations (and turns. With Maneuver ON if you try to turn jet will try via yawn controls instead of rolling and using both)

It turns the AOA limit off but they keep other stuff (rudder for example), it shouldn’t have much difference between that and setting other values for it

On a contrary, the custom valuables are more complex than simple True/False switch. Still, worth throwing at Suggestions

@Giovanex05 if you’d like we can test the turn performance against some other turn rate data (also provided by the primary source, MiG)

I don’t have much time or patience to test the aircraft in-game atm but for the same conditions and at sea level, full throttle, this is what stat shark says; Red line is the aforementioned document’s curve roughly mapped onto the statshark page.

According to this document, at 0% SEP (sustained turn) the MiG-29 is overperforming a bit in-game.

i mean at the end the problem is still the f-16 massivly ocerperforming

F-16 isn’t over performing in sustained turns afaik

Yeah, sure, more confirmation will be welcome

It has been slightly overperforming after Oswald was tuned to 0.63 from 0.62 back in November 2023 when I reported an also slight (but more important than this one since it was at lower altitude) underperformance at low speed sea level. The report was addressed as not a bug but the slight adjustment was made to fix it.

A and ADF models are. When I reported it thought, after multiple times, they just said “we don’t adjust slow speed rate” Community Bug Reporting System

I compared F-16C-40 to the chart and it aligned very well with the data shown, I think it is probably quite accurate but may be for a heavier model of MiG-29 as I was testing the 9-12A.

If I test the 9-13 and others it aligns itself even better to the data.

Anyone who speaks Russian can explain what this stands for?

I think it refers to detecting stationary sea targets, but I’m not clear on what this is supposed to stand for:

Most likely:
Measuring coordinates of stationary land (sea) targets

Thanks

I suppose it’s abbreviated from “наземные (морские) цели”

Yes.

It would be more correct (fixed targets for example tank/ship)…
Stationary ones are, for example, the Voronezh Radar…
Further in the text _ Selection and tracking of ground (sea) moving targets…

fixed and stationary are synonyms.

Maybe in English, but not in Russian…
In Russian:

  1. (Stationary is the one that cannot move)…
  2. A fixed target is one that can move, but is currently in no motion mode (for example, the engine is turned off)…
