So, i was looking to find anything of note about MiG-29S models, and on airwar i found this paragraph
Due to the fact that the MiG-29M, which had recently been tested, was structurally and technologically quite different from the production fighter, and the new SUV used on it required lengthy refinement, it was decided to unify the new version of the twenty-ninth with the 9-13 modification mastered in production. It was planned to introduce new guided air-to-air missiles into the MiG-29S armament, initially designed for the MiG-29M, primarily the RVV-AE medium-range missile with an active radar seeker, as well as the R-27T with a thermal seeker, R-27RE and R-27TE with an extended launch range. This goes in line with MiG-29 combat manual where only R-27R1 is mentioned.
Now i am trying to look trough the sources mentioned on that page to find any substantial proof of that only SUV-29S is capable of using R-27T, R-27ET and R-27ER, so i can make a bug report. If gaijin doesn’t want to remove ERs and move MiG-29 down as a balancing decision - it will move them because all MiG-29s outside of M, SMT and N simply can’t use them due to technical incompatibility.

I actually only learned about this quite recently but apparently the older MiG-29s pre MiG-29S can’t use R-27Es.
Kinda makes sense since the MiG-29 was put in service before the 27E series.
Also, MiG (Or what I assume to be MiG) doesn’t mention 27E compatabiliy on their website on the MiG-29, aside from the MiG-29S and later variations like the SMT.
I remember some other sources being spread around the Forum a while ago showing that MiG-29s couldn’t use R-27E’s.

Not only Es, but they also can’t even use R-27Ts as well. Only R-27R/R1

Maybe give those 12.7 F-15s something to go up against lmao.
Yeah, would be great. I’ll gather all i can get over the weekends and holiday, and try to make a proper bug report about this. Hopefully gaijin won’t be stubborn with this, because this is a case of something having completely incompatible weaponry.

Best solution: add the mig29S without r77s and move the 9.13 down while removing the ER

Without ERs it’s probably gonna move to 12.3, because ERs is pretty much the only thing that keeps it afloat at 12.7
it only got r60s, another solution would be giving it r73s. I forgot about its addition hehe

Gaming wise airframe is ‘average’~ ish at the br, 2 SARH + 4 Dumb IR is common~ at 12.7 (various F16, maybe 1-2 fr*nch things) with only exemption of sarh lacking stuff like one fr*nch f-16, and some, going down just requires a bit of more of a handicap compared to other platforms… Like F16 w/o sarh and good ir.
I am gonna pretend F18 A or earlies, F15’s do not exist (apart from sparrows having the brain of a sparrow they are ‘better’ on paper, and the P***** sparrow being better (ish) than R27R
And if it gets only 6 R60M it would be just worse pain than 12.3 F16…
Except you can’t pretend that they don’t exist. This is how gaijin sees br brackets right now and there is no way in hell that MIG-29 9.12 is better than F-18A if you take ERs away. Same as MiG-29 9.13 without ERs is not better than F-15A or F-18C early.
Otherwise i have to wear a clown mask trying to juggle how 4 brain dead sarh + 4 irrcm is somehow same as 2 sarh and 4 dumb ir
Just give it working (aka not annoying) sarh and balance around it
F-18 A is straight up better than any F16 from 12.3 - 12.7 (excluding maybe fr*nch)
F15/F18 is so much of a ‘anomaly’ in balancing system that you would start thinking this is the game about stalking ppl or smth
Sparrows are far from braindead, especiall F and M models.
There is no such thing as anomaly. F-18 and F-15 became new balancing standard at this point

F & M are chuds compared to the P, you all know what P stands for, USA wouldn’t have named it that if it didnt prerform
Ability to unlock & relock is too important when people ‘know’ how to notch, head on sure (unless they do fancy roll) this feature allows me, an average at best to save even shit shots, effectively making it R27R with triple the amount at same br.
Sadly yeah, only new&shiny matter, like everywhere else…
