Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 Fulcrum - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 1)

you arent talking about the 9-15

you are talking about the 9-41

Yak-141 that never mounted RWR or countermeasures

neither did the XP-50 or XP-55 mount a gun

Yep, basically 9.15 have every right to get L-150 and 120 countermeasures and OLS-M with laser designator and tv channel

or XF5U and D.XIII etc etc…

doesnt a fulcrum variant gets L136 MAWS?

Only ones with MAW are MiG-35 and Egyptian MiG-29M iirc

Mak-F was planned considered for 9.15 and 9.31, as well as for Sukhoi T10, but never installed on any of them

Mak-F ??

disco globe on Su-24. Early MAW designed by USSR, proved to be very unreliable in spotting targets against ground surface but showed decent results against sky

Half disco ball

that isnt L-136 iirc, that was installed on T-10Ms atleast, but i remember reading somewhere that they were installed on fulcrums too

yes becasue it is the Mak-F

smart soviet designer thinking that maw place above the plane would be great for below missile detection.

you gotta love the stupid lore of ussr aviation

I mean, low altitude interdiction was quite a novel thing at the time. Mak-F probably have zero problems working at operating altitude of a fighter jet

true true, forgot about low ground flying thing in 80s.

isnt L-136 MAK-UFM?

Seems so, but it’s also installed on choppers it seems

yeah

as i have said before, T-10Ms too

I think it was a single airframe for the sake of testing

Suspension of belief is Gaijin’s modus operandi
