guess what if you can carry more internal fuel in the 29M over the 9-12
then 30% internal fuel is going to be more than in a 9-12
the 29M carries 600kg more internal fuel on min fuel than the 9-12
the 9-12 needs to carry over 50% fuel for them to have the same internal fuel weight
and guess how the EM-chart looks like when you do that
and the 29M is still almost a ton heavier than the 9-12

By using the war thunder editor and putting fuel to 10% per say?
MiG-29M flies well on 10% fuel
30% vs 10%
Both on 1% fuel the 9-12 beats it by 1 degree which is duable.

To be fair, those strake dispensers are appliqué, meaning that they can be removed and reattached as needed. Considering the 9-15 does seem to have the necessary attachment points (see Spoiler), there is no reason to believe that it (or any other later Fulcrum) would be unable to mount them as needed; it’s just that there’s never been reason to since they’ve mostly been tech demonstrators and/or haven’t been very active in combat operations that required higher numbers of countermeasures. Same could be said for the extra large caliber CM dispensers seen on the SMT; there’s no indication that they’re bespoke and cannot be mounted on other models.

Its actually pretty impressive that the MiG-29M flies almost like the 9-12 on lower fuel. Its like the 9-13.

I just rate fought in it and the speed gain is actually pretty nice advantage.
While both of them are appliqué, and 29M retains the attachment points - there is no way to prove that it retains wiring required for their usage, or has required wiring under the tail for SMT style dispencers.
