Tbh this sounds pretty realistic (or probably not), since it will fit the theme of Modern Naval Aircraft, while last year, we got Air Superiority Fighter. It would be logical if this winter, we got Naval Air Superiority Fighter.
One can only hope. I’d love to see sea assets being actually useful again in the modern setting. There are many aircrafts that could take off from and land to CVs even in the current state.
Maybe they will do that before December or even add the plane without passing to the devs, it’s a bit of cope from my part but it’s not impossible lol. I just hope they don’t add another flanker because holy shit i’m already tired of them.
They often accept suggestions 2 months before the update they add them (if they add them). At least that’s what happened with the Mirage4000 and kinda with my MiG-21-93 suggestion (MiG-21bison is basically the same thing).
At this point I think they are sadly going to jump straight to an early version of the MiG-29M2 or more probably, since f-18 is coming, the MiG-29K 9-41 with the N010M and not the Pesa/Aesa radar… which would be a shame as without those radars (which are a bit too modern for the game imho) they have no advantage over the original soviet ones and they got the ugly 2 big cockpit.
I really hope we don’t get another flanker lol, it’s been more than a year since we got the last MiG-29. I’m gonna be so pissed if they add the Su-33 or the Su-30

Unfortunately i think that this is the most probable outcome (besides the su33), it’s worth to mention that unless they add the F18A instead of jumping into the C, the MiG-29K is going to be much inferior in terms of avionics and shit. Let’s cross our fingers and hope for the best.
Nah that’s not true, the only things the 29K would be worse at is dogfighting (it’s a lot heavier (especially 9-41) than the base MiG-29M) and number of missiles if F-18 (as it should) gets 10 amraams. More general flight performance and radar (even with the SMT radar and not the upgraded ones) are on the 29K side. Remember it’s slightly heavier than the SMT but has far better aerodynamics, ~10% more thrust without even considering the much better intakes and is aerodynamically unstable.
MiG-29M 9-15 or K 9-31 would simply be better additions for now thought, we can get K 9-41 and M/M2 later with better avionics.
There’s also the mig29kr which is the single seat version, there’s a chance they won’t pick the ugly one
This is the MiG-29K 9-31, it’s just a MiG-29M 9-15 of our suggestion but navalized. This would be great. They could also add this in december and the 9-15 in march since outside of a 1v1 dogfight they’d be essentially the same plane

Yeah problem is that it was only made in 2 prototypes, even less than MiG-29M 9-15. MiG-29K 9-41 instead is in service with russia

11600 isn’t the 9.17 variant? The 9.13 weighs 11200 but is considerably more agile than the SMT we have ingame which is the 9.19 if i’m not mistaken, would 400 more kg make that huge difference? Btw do you have the 9.12? I want to know how does it compare to the 9.13 since it weighs 10900.
9-13 should be 11000, but I need to check again. 11600 is the weight the 9.19 has in game… given that it is the weight of the 9.17 according to most sources I think the 9.19 weight in game is incorrect since it was supposed to be a middle ground between 9.17 and 9.18, but I can’t prove that.
9.12 in game feels identical to the 9.13, difference is only noticeable in dogfights.
SMT has higher drag compared to the 9.12 and 9.13, weight is not the only reason it feels bad

fuel probe, big spine on the back all increase drag. With mass it’s also not only a consideration of how much but how it is distributed. There’s a chance the SMT center of mass Is further forward than the normal MiG-29 in game

Now that I think about it I could look into where the SMT has the center of mass in game…
it seems in game center of mass for 9.12 and 9.19 are in the same position… so all difference is weight and drag
