Is anyone here fluent in Russian that can help me translate and understand some of these books pertaining to the RD-33? @Grimtax @_Fantom2451 ??
Do you know what the 100% miss altitude was for the R-27ER?
Didnt bother testing, not the thing I bug reported. Should be relatively close to the AIM-7M’s 95m tho since both have an 8m proxy fuze and multipath is “the same” for all missiles, the increased speed/pull might effect it tho but not sure.
Irl its something like 20m min alt, tho iirc ive heard stuff about it having issues at higher altitudes than that too
I was speaking irl, in game they are all the same
I gave you both, not sure why you’re complaining…
Apart that only 16 NEW mig-29S were made but many more MiG-29As got upgraded to the same standard since the airframe is the same, what you are saying is all caused by substandard avionics. The airframe itself of the MiG-29 has nothing to envy to other 4th gen fighters.
In what metrics apart from sustained turn does the F-16 match the MiG-29? Certainly not in speed, zoom climb which are the most important features in a BVR fight.
It may be because of the radar and more missiles, but is absolutely inferior to the F-16C as far as performance goes. The hornet is barely supersonic.
Performance wise the MiG-29M smokes it. Not that it matters a lot but it getting at least 4 degrees extra max AoA and the ability to do full fat post stall maneuvers like the Flanker give it the advantage in a dogfight as well.
I mean, the only ones that fought were very downgraded versions that lacked basic maintenance (Serbian ones should not even have been able to fly) and were hopelessly outnumbered. They also lacked any kind of ground radar/awacs support which is essential when a fighter has weak avionics.
Let’s for a moment suppose that instead of having 6 MiG-29s serbia had capable ground radars and awacs and at least the same number of fighters NATO used, I don’t see the teen series getting away with no losses.
What you described here is the fact that the F-14 is an heavier fighter carrying more stuff. Even compared to the F-16 it will have a greater capability to impact a match precisely because because it carries more stuff. At the same time in real life you need to consider that for the price of an F-14 you can get over 5 MiG-29s or F-16s.
Without the instructor the MiG-29 smokes it, even simply because Magic2s are not HOBS and the 29 will just outrate it.
Again when comparing it to the only fighter that was remotely similar in it in cost (F-16), the only reason it suffers are the weaker avionics, and even then when comparing it to the versions on the same timeframe that is not always the case.
F-16As didn’t have BVR capability (while the MiG-29A had), MiG-29s is miles better than the A (and it appeared at the same time as the early F-16C), and in the case of the MiG-29M (which appeared around the same time as the block50) it even gets more missiles too.
If you want to complain about getting a response from the developer and closing the report, I can’t help you.
The gaijin overnerf the su27 and overbuff the f15 like now the mig29 vs f16… usamains have extremetly high skill issue and they cant get 1.0+ k/d without overbuffed plane…
Nosense?
That report has been reviewed by the developer and it has been concluded that no changes are required. I don’t do anything in this process, I just forward the developer’s answer to the CBR.
I did what I had to do, it’s not good to blame others without knowing anything about them.
I dont see any mig29 buff or f16 nerf in the last changelog… hm… i dont believe
Whether you believe it or not, every forwarded report goes through the same process.
Additionally, your nickname is quite unhealthy.
In the case of Yugoslavia, the F-22 would not have helped them either
F-16? I don’t know why you’re blaming me for that when I didn’t make that.
F-16’s problems started when dev removed the AoA limiter that existed IRL due to user complaints.
This allowed maneuvers that could not be achieved in real life, leading to reports that the fuselage shape make instability at high AoA. The comment in this thread about the F-16 being a UFO originated from this.
However, this is very tricky to implement in games, and games have limited engines that can’t do it perfectly. To implement this, we need a simulator.
Uh War thunder positions itself as a simulator
To be clear, I mean Aerodynamic CFD simulation.
Snails should take unlimited AoA from airplanes
Well, this is not a simulator.and complex CAD systems that require huge capacities
Well, in my country they are also called simulators. Anyway, the point is that game FM cannot implement this, and it is difficult to implement.
It would be better if there was AoA limiter
