In terms of next steps of MiG-29 variants, would it be the MIG-29M that would be next in line? I know that variant is made using the second generation airframe but how much of a upgrade would that be compared to the current 29s in game?
9.15 M model would be really good in terms of flight performance thanks to better engines and also bein slightly heavier then 9.12.
İt can also carry 8 A2A ordinance and has 4 way fly-by wire system alongside with digital mfd’s in cockpit.
When it comes to radar its suppose to be on par with Yak-141 or should be better i guess.

The naming scheme used here sucks so much. I wonder why they designate 9-17 / 9-19 as the SMT when the 9-15 was the upgraded airframe, engines, hard points, and avionics.
Because the 9-15 was made before the SMT was developed

I guess could add MiG-29M 9-15 before MiG-29SMT (9-19R) & MiG-29KR (9-41) and located after MiG-29 (9-13), MiG-29S (9-13S) & MiG-29SM (9-13SM)
Maybe, gajin could add MiG-29M (9-15) before MiG-29SMT (9-19) because armed R-73, R-27ER, R-27ET & R-77 like MiG-29S (9-13S) but never armed R-73M
I guess after MiG-29SMT (9-19) would be MiG-29KR (9-41) in rank IX(9)
Actually MiG-29SMT (9-19) armed R-74M, R-77-1 & R-77M like MiG-29KR (9-41) but gajin not ready consider add R-74M, R-77-1 & R-77M this year
9-15 very much better all based MiGs29 and all modernsations of 29S, only 29K 9-41 same level

I guess gaijin could add 2 another MiG-29 12.7 BR MiG-29S (9-13S) & MiG-29SM (9-13SM) before MiG-29SMT (9-19R), MiG-29KR (9-41) & MiG-29M2 (9-67)
MiG-29SMT 9-19 increase to 13.0 BR in Q4 2024 or Q3 2025 if gaijin consider R-73M & R-74M replacement R-73 and R-27ER & R-27ET replace by R-77-1
Still having issue with the SMT. Regardless of extra weight any fuel min. It still has much worst Alpha than it should you cannot notch missiles for anything and takes a turn radius as the ASA.

Mig 29 9.19r used N041R radar that was more similar to mig 29 kr radar but right now it uses export variant of n010m

İf only Russians gave 9.15M engines to SMT it would be a great plane actually.
I was wondering if anyone has noticed an issue like this?
When the MiG-29s accelerates to about M0.9, it needs to sink the nose about 5 degrees to perform level flight. At this time, the fighter jet was flying at a negative angle of attack.
I don’t know if this is an issue based on broken FM or if it’s intentional. Because it is theoretically impossible for an aircraft with a negative angle of attack to generate positive lift, it will sink rather than fly levelly. I know that because of its unique neutral stability aerodynamics, MiG-29s need to be trimmed forward to offset the strong nose-up moment at transonic speeds, but it will not put the aircraft into a negative angle of attack state.
Its cause its a lifting body. This should be a thing especially at high supersonic speeds. Its not even unique to the mig.
