These ratings are based on each aircraft’s performance at its respective BR in each game mode.
Yeah, I actually took the time to go through each one based on my own experience, since at this point we basically have the full MiG family in the game and I’ve also played all of these MiGs extensively, and they are by far the most played aircraft on my account

MiG-29A (9-12)

BR: 12.7 | Score: 8/10
Strengths:

The two R-27ERs are the core strength of the aircraft. At this BR they remain among the strongest radar missiles in the game and, when used properly, can often translate into two very high-probability kills

The flight model is very strong for 12.7. It is fast, accelerates well and remains genuinely dangerous once the fight gets closer
Limitations

The four R-60Ms are the weak side of the loadout. They are old, flare-hungry missiles and much less reliable than modern IR weapons

Only 60 countermeasures. The number is not great, but it is not a unique disadvantage because many aircraft around the same BR are similarly limited

No Fox-3 capability, so it cannot play the same fire-and-defend game as newer aircraft
Verdict: A very strong 12.7 fighter because the R-27ERs and the flight model do most of the heavy lifting. The dated IR missiles and lack of Fox-3s stop it from scoring higher.
Ground RB
BR: 11.7 | Score: 4/10
Strengths:
- It can still be used as a fighter for CAP thanks to its good flight model, N019 radar and solid air to air performance
Limitations
- Very poor CAS capability
- Its air to ground options are basically unguided bombs, rockets and the gun cannon
- It lacks proper stand off or guided weapons for its environment
Verdict: It can defend the airspace, but as a CAS platform it is very limited. It was never designed around serious multirole capability and that is very noticeable in Ground RB
Air Sim
BR: 12.3 | Score: 8.25/10
Strengths:
- The two R-27ERs are extremely strong at this BR
- One of the best flight models available around its bracket
- The N019 radar with TWS is still very useful for detecting and following contacts
- The countermeasure count is acceptable for the BR
Limitations
- The SPO-15LM RWR is the main weakness. The information it provides is limited and far less clear than the information provided by more modern digital RWR systems
- Situational awareness is therefore worse than on aircraft equipped with systems such as the L-150
Verdict: Apart from the SPO-15LM , it is an extremely solid sim fighter. The combination of R-27ERs, the N019 and a very strong flight model makes it highly competitive
Nuclear Mode
Score: 5.75/10
Strengths:
- Still very capable in pure air to air combat
- The R-27ER remains useful for defending airspace and engaging longer range targets
- The N019 is adequate for the air superiority role
Limitations
- Very limited multirole capability
- No proper SEAD capability
- No anti ship capability
- Short combat radius and limited fuel endurance become much more noticeable on the much larger Nuclear maps
- Its role is mostly restricted to air superiority
Verdict: A capable fighter, but Nuclear rewards multirole capability, endurance and mission flexibility. The MiG-29A is too specialized to score highly here
MiG-29 (9-13)

Strengths:
- Still keeps the two R-27ERs, which remain its most reliable weapons
- Gains R-73s, giving it a much stronger close range capability than the MiG-29A
- In a downtier the R-73s make it very dangerous
- The N019 radar remains adequate for exploiting the R-27ERs
Limitations
- The jump to 13.0 hurts it quite a lot
- It very frequently sees aircraft equipped with Fox-3s
- In uptiers it can be at a clear disadvantage because most of the aircraft around it have Fox 3
- Apart from the R-73s, its overall capability is still very similar to the MiG-29A
Verdict: Better at close range than the MiG-29A, but the higher BR offsets a large part of that advantage. Strong in favorable matchmaking, much weaker in uptiers
Ground RB
BR: 11.7 | Score: 4.25/10
Strengths:
- The R-73s improve its ability to perform CAP and fight enemy aircraft
- The N019 Rubin remains sufficient for the air to air part of the mission
Limitations
- Its CAS capability is still basically the same as the MiG-29A
- It still lacks proper guided air to ground weapons
Verdict: Slightly better than the 9-12 because of the R-73s, but still a weak CAS platform overall
Air Simulator
BR: 13.0 | Score: 8/10
Strengths:
- Keeps the excellent flight model
- R-27ERs remain strong
- R-73s improve close range lethality
- The N019 remains usable for BVR work
- Performs very well when 13.0 is the top BR of the bracket
Limitations
- The SPO-15LM becomes a much bigger issue at this BR
- Situational awareness is weak compared to aircraft equipped with more modern digital RWR systems
- In unfavorable brackets it starts facing Fox-3 equipped aircraft with much better defensive awareness
Verdict: Very strong when the bracket favors it, but noticeably weaker when it has to fight above its own BR because of the limited situational awareness provided by the SPO-15LM Beryoza
Nuclear Mode
Score: 6/10
Strengths:
- Better close range air to air capability than the 9-12 thanks to the R-73s
- The R-27ERs still give it a strong defensive air to air option
Limitations
- Air to ground capability is basically unchanged from the MiG-29A
- No meaningful SEAD or anti ship capability
- Endurance remains limited for the size of Nuclear maps
- The SPO-15LM also limits situational awareness during longer sorties
Verdict: Slightly better than the 9-12 because of the R-73s, but it still lacks the multirole flexibility that Nuclear rewards
MiG-29SMT

Strengths:
- Can carry six R-77s, giving it proper Fox-3 capability
- The N010M Zhuk-M radar is a significant improvement over the N019 and is much better suited to BVR combat
- The L-150, represented as the SPO-150 family in WT, gives far better RWR information and greatly improves situational awareness
- Much larger countermeasure capacity than the early MiG-29s
- Very strong in downtiers and still able to fight back in uptiers
Limitations
- The flight model is worse than the early MiG-29s
- The additional fuel and structural changes make it noticeably heavier
- Acceleration and energy retention are worse than on the lighter Fulcrums
Verdict: One of the most balanced MiG-29s. It gives up some flight performance but gains R-77s, the N010M Zhuk-M, the L-150 and much better defensive capability
Ground RB
BR: 12.3 | Score: 6/10
Strengths:
- Proper multirole capability
- Access to guided weapons such as Kh-29TD, KAB-500Kr-E, KAB-500S and Kh-31P
- The Kh-31P gives it real SEAD capability
- R-77s allow it to defend itself after performing CAS
- The N010M Zhuk-M and L-150 make the aircraft much more comfortable when it needs to switch back to the air to air role
Limitations
- It is still not one of the strongest dedicated CAS aircraft in its environment
- Its target acquisition capabilities are not as convenient as on more specialized strike platforms with modern targeting pods
Verdict: A major step above the early MiG-29s in Ground RB. It is genuinely useful in both CAS and air to air roles
Air Simulator
BR: 13.3 | Score: 8.5/10
Strengths:
- N010M Zhuk-M radar
- L-150 RWR
- Fox-3 capability with R-77s
- Much better countermeasure capacity
- Situational awareness is significantly better than on aircraft using the SPO-15LM
Limitations
- The heavier flight model is still noticeable
- It is less dangerous in a pure dogfight than the lighter MiG-29 variants
Verdict: Simulator suits the SMT very well because the N010M Zhuk-M, L-150 , awareness and survivability matter more than simply having the best flight model
Nuclear Mode

Strengths:
- Much better suited to large multirole missions than the early MiG-29s
- Proper SEAD capability with the Kh-31P
- R-77s provide solid air to air defense

- Can carry the nuclear bomb
Limitations
- Still not the strongest CAS platform
- The heavier flight model reduces its performance compared to the lighter Fulcrums
Verdict: Nuclear fits the SMT very well. Its extra fuel, N010M Zhuk-M, L-150 , R-77s and multirole capability make it far more useful than the early MiG-29s

- The R-77 has limited range compared to several AMRAAM variants and other stronger Fox-3s
- Only 60 normal countermeasures
- The L-150 suffers from significant blind spots in its coverage, particularly in a high density Fox-3 environment
- In uptiers it can be heavily pressured by aircraft with better BVR capability
Verdict: A good aircraft with strong offensive volume and a respectable flight model, but the L-150, low countermeasure count and short effective range of the R-77 prevent it from being truly dominant
Ground RB
BR: 12.3 | Score: 5/10
Strengths:
- Access to guided weapons such as Kh-29TD, Kh-31 and KAB-500Kr
- Can perform SEAD missions
- The N010 Zhuk gives it much better multirole capability than the radars of the early Fulcrums
- Can still carry useful air to air weapons for self defense
Limitations
- No proper dedicated targeting pod
- Has to get closer than more advanced CAS platforms in many situations
- Not as comfortable for target acquisition as more specialized strike aircraft
Verdict: Capable, but not especially efficient. It has useful weapons, but lacks the targeting equipment needed to fully exploit them

Strengths:
- Strong flight model

Strengths:
- Good air to air capability
- Can act as a defensive fighter
- Has SEAD capability with Kh-31 anti radiation weapons
- Can still carry R-27 family weapons, giving it more air to air flexibility than the MiG-29KR
- The N010 Zhuk is useful for its multirole role and wide coverage
Limitations
- Limited countermeasure capacity
- L-150 situational awareness is not particularly strong for this type of large scale mission
- CAS capability is not especially flexible
- Some attacks require getting relatively close to the target
Verdict: A useful defensive and SEAD aircraft, but it does not have the same overall mission flexibility as the stronger multirole Fulcrums
MiG-29KR

- Slightly lower top speed than some other Fulcrums
Verdict: Better defensively and much better in close combat than the MiG-29M, but the lack of R-27 options and limited R-77 range still restrict its BVR potential
Ground RB
BR: 12.3 | Score: 5.5/10
Strengths:
- Good guided CAS options
- Access to Kh-29TD, KAB-500Kr-E and Kh-31P
- Proper SEAD capability with the Kh-31P
- Anti ship capability with Kh-31A and Kh-35U
- Can still retain useful air to air weapons for self defense
Limitations
- Still lacks the targeting convenience of more specialized CAS aircraft
- Weapon quantity is not especially high
Verdict: A very flexible multirole aircraft. The combination of CAS, SEAD and anti ship capability gives it much more mission variety than most earlier MiG-29s

- The SOAR MAWS provides 360 degree missile warning coverage and 30km range greatly improves awareness against incoming threats
- The SOLO LWS adds laser warning capability
- The SOAR helps compensate for some of the coverage limitations of the L-150M-02
Limitations
- 14.3 heavily rewards aircraft that climb faster, accelerate faster and maintain speed better at medium and high altitude
- The MiG-35 loses too much performance at medium and high altitude
- Its high altitude performance can feel closer to an F/A-18 than to the strongest 14.3 fighters
- Only 64 large caliber countermeasures, which is very limited for the missile density at this BR
- The Zhuk-AE is strong, but its 120 by 120 degree modeled search coverage still limits how much airspace can be scanned at once
Verdict: Extremely dangerous at low altitude and in close combat, with a strong Zhuk-AE, L-150M-02 and SOAR defensive suite, but its medium and high altitude performance is a major weakness in the current 14.3 Air RB meta
Ground RB

Verdict: One of the most complete MiG family aircraft for Ground RB. The T-220, Zhuk-AE, L-150M-02, SOAR and its huge weapon selection give it answers for tanks, SAMs, aircraft and naval targets

Verdict: Simulator suits the MiG-35 much better than Air RB. The combination of the Zhuk-AE, L-150M-02, SOAR and SOLO LWS gives it excellent situational awareness, and that matters much more here than simply being the fastest aircraft to altitude
Nuclear Mode
Score: 9/10
Strengths:
- One of the strongest aircraft for Nuclear because it can stay survivable while still maintaining very strong air to air and CAS capability
- Nuclear heavily rewards low altitude flying in order to avoid enemy SAM systems, and this is exactly where the MiG-35 performs best
- At very low altitude, the MiG-35 is one of the strongest fighters in the game thanks to its excellent flight model, acceleration and close combat performance

- R-77-1s provide strong air to air capability
- Strong CAS capability with Kh-38 family weapons

- Its weaker medium and high altitude performance still exists, but this matters much less in Nuclear because most of the time the aircraft is operating at very low altitude to avoid enemy SAM systems
Verdict: The MiG-35 is one of the best aircraft for Nuclear because it fits the mode almost perfectly. Survival, air to air capability and CAS flexibility matter more than pure high altitude performance, and the MiG-35 can do all three extremely well. Since most sorties are flown at very low altitude to stay below enemy SAM coverage, its strongest flight regime is also the one that matters most in this mode.
