mostly aesthetic stuff not important to in game, such as removal of formation lights on them

Such minor differences might exist in the game simply because photographs of this specific aircraft were used when creating the model
I’m not sure
but it seems there are hardly any differences between it and the OLS-35?
supposedly its increased range from the earlier OLS-UE
(not that it matters right now since all IRSTs ranges are limited on purpose)
but russian bias
I’m actually somewhat surprised, I’ve been using ETs on MiG-35 and they worked decently well.
Then again, might be confirmation bias, since I haven’t check my replays.
Ah, but you see, it is countered by the French also making use of the mechanic. So naturally, it ends up skewiff.
That explains a lot
R-27T/ET’s start at 2° fov, decent flare resistance even with the FOV gating not working properly
The R-73’s start at 4.5°, just 0.5 away from the R-60’s
The thing is, FOV gating is supposed to happen the moment the target is locked before launch.
But it’s just not happening
I know. I’m just saying that while its not working the R-27’s have the better flare resistance
Now I’m beginning to wonder for how long this bug persisted.
They changed the FOV IRCCM behaviour in April 2025, wonder if its been broken ever since then
gaijin breaks something every big update and sometimes even in small patches, so it’s hard to say for sure
Hey MiG masters
I just yesterday finally unlocked the 9.12 and have begun spading it.
However i do have some questions on how this jet should be played in relation to positioning and altitude.
Do you find more sucess multipathing, flying off to the left or right etc etc. The more in-depth the better.
Thanks as always for any replies <3
i personally fly towards the left at medium to high altitude (always below contrail) and then try to suprise ppl with missiles comming top down
if it is a down tier the you can also engage in the initial BVR engagement more directly
and in an uptier you have to stay quite passive since there isnt much you can do against the fox-3 spam in the 9.12
@MiGoon_Fox-3 what is your expert opinion?
That’s the neat part
You don’t
But seriously, your plane is insanely reliant on its two only good missiles
Try to maximize them by being more passive early game and then smiting dumbasses who are unaware at Medium-High alt
I would fly at medium alt while I have R-27s
Then when they’re gone I either fly low and try to shotgun R-60 or snipe from above
Whichever works best for you is what I’d suggest
I highly suggest skipping the 12.7 and 13.0 MiGs
9.13 and 9.12…
i guess onboard ECM will be the only difference when that comes
