In 1985, a serial copy of the MiG-25PD (Foxbat E) high-altitude interceptor fighter was equipped with a retractable in-flight refueling pod in front of the cockpit, at a position slightly to the right of the fuselage longitudinal axis, at one of the repair plants. The MiG-25PD (Foxbat E) (blue 45) thus modified became known as the MiG-25PDZ and first took off from the runway in early 1986.

I can imagine it as TT version.

My mistake. This could’ve been added instead. Fits more naturally as an event.

We have already serial PD as event. Better variant need to be TT. Adding prototypes to TT isn’t that unusual after all.

In that case we got our answer. I think the Soviets never used flares.

On PDZ they did. On PD I dont have evidence.

A bit off topic, just a curious moment… why is everyone referring “ПДС” as “PDZ”? Shouldn’t it be literal “PDS”?

PDS and PDZ are different variants. PDS is P which was modified to PD standard with small changes as non ability to carry drop tank and different parachute. PDZ was prototype, based on serial MiG-25PD, on which was tested air refueling system. It had little bit longer hull, where was installed this system and reportedly limited thrust vectoring which should help during refueling. Also photos of this variant show it with SPO-15 RWR and also with KDS-155 countermeasure dispensers, what make it only Soviet MiG-25 plane, on which we have photographical evidence that it carried those things.

Well guys i bought it aaaand it’s disgusting. Its climb rate should be 200+ m/s. In fact, it’s 120 m/s. It’s completely blind. Its radar doesn’t see anyone or anything. It doesn’t turn at all. I wouldn’t advise anyone to waste their money on this “piece of code.”

well lets hope they fix the manull MTI, report got accpted some time ago for it. also for the 23

There is a massive bug with the MiG-25PD that quite alot of players have noticed ingame.

The MiG-25PD in mouse aim is always banked to the right slightly by 2-5 degrees. Once you go full sim controls with neutral input, the aircraft consistantly rolls to the right. Even when using Dampening mode the aircraft still cannot hold it’s roll which therefore causes it to move without input because of unequal lift due to roll angle.

Upon inspection it looks like even the physical model when you have neutral controls has the aelerons set to 1-3* right roll for no reason at rest. If that is indeed the issue then hopefully gaijin can recognise the report and resolve it.

Please check it out yourselves and PLEASE upvote the bug report and comment you have it aswell.
