Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-25PD Foxbat-E — The Refined Foxbat

Lmao my bad, im extra special today.

i will get back to you with this once im home at PC.

I find it hard to believe that a cheaper missile can outperform the Phoenix. In my opinion, giving it the same capabilities as the R-27 is absurd. I’ve already shared what I think its in-game stats should be, but to reiterate: the standard R-40 should have a 15G limit, and the R-40D should be capped at 20G at the time of writing.

May be. Sources differ on this and I did not study that into details. However, if you got it from the official manual, then yes. What I got is 4 G of target maneuvering.

@noister
lol If you think anti-bomber missiles from the 1950s maneuver, then you haven’t researched R40s.
R-33 was made to deal with supersonic bombers and strike aircraft.
Mig-31 was made compatible with R-77 to intercept multirole aircraft better as well.

A more appropriate way of describing the R-40 would be that its more a longer range R-23/24 than anything.

This post on the Soviet missiles thread claims 15g for all models, which seems pretty reasonable to me considering that’s also what the early Sparrows have

MB, looking at that again, it seems to be actually limited to 4G overloads

yeah i think that would be fair, reading the source again, it would be easy to outroll it, but given the fact the crazy amount of explosive it has, it might not be easy to outurn it when it has it energy.

Its not that bad, given the fact it has downed F-18, F-5 and F-4, and even hit a F-15, its maneouvrability is kinda ok, but not special, should be around 20g~

Taking down targets does not mean those targets were maneuvering.
And no, it’s maneuverability won’t be anywhere close to 20G.

the russian sources say the the R-40 is able to hit a target manouvering at ~4G
which means that it has g load that is multiple times higher than that

iirc you have to multiply the 4G value by 3.6 to get the missile overload

4G * 3.6 = 14.4G

20G in-game, not irl.

being a bit goofy today but let me say it again

2.5G target overload for base R40

4G target overload for R40RD/TD

it depends on speed, for eg. base r77 with mach 4 top speed has 12g target overload has 50g. R27er with 8g target overload is around 35g. should be a little bit more than 4x

R40 can reach upto mach 4.5, so it should be 4 * 4+ = 17~ as much as a pheonix

aim54 still underperforming because gaijin doesnt believe in duel plane XD

dual plane is kinda already on magic 2

thats why it has 50g overload, while it can sometimes even pull 60g

Dual plane is not modeled on magic 2, it’s limited to 35 Gs

i couldve sworn its 50g…

Oh my lovely Foxbat, I would cut off a toe just to be able to fly you.
