Is the radar on this MiG supposed to get an ACM mode of some sort, or just manual targeting with the radar pointer?

where exactly does gaijin get the 20gs of overload for the r40s?

No idea. We know that basic R-40 have 15 G in air and 2.5 G of target and then R-40D have 4 G of target but we dont know in air but is expected to be that 15 G (although there were certain changes made to the missile’s hull that could theoretically increase the missile’s G-limit). Maybe they have some better informations or its bug of first dev.

It’s derived from the RP-23ML so it should get ACM

It should have a manual search zone, 30° and 60° ( 40° instead of 30° if the pilot selects the rear aspect knob)

It doesn’t get it, no mention of it in manuals.

This is a general fault ingame. The radar lock zone is limited up to 60km, when it shouldn’t be limited within 100km(dunno if 120km but could be).

Any target that’s bigger than 6m² you’ll not be able to lock it above 60km

The F15’s RCS seems to be 13m² too

“it’s not overperforming It’s because in real life it has a limit structure safety and airframe longevity limit When they capture the Mig 25 they tested on it And they found out they could pull 11gs before cracks appear on the airframe And some document said it could do 1400 kilometre an hour on a deck and one of the radar on Israel spot Egyptian Mig 25 going as fast as Mach 3.2 So yeah it’s limited in real life because longevity and airframe safety concern but we are in game things of this nature does not concern here so it will have a 100 percent performance and no limit set on it”

there are two versions one made in 60s which is the normal r40 1 made in the 80s which r40td improved version so yeah maybe the older one has the 15G overload and the second one improve one had a better G load maybe because software improvement not structure improvement

I’m going to wait until second dev update comes before making any bug reports, maybe gajin just haven’t properly configured it yet because man is it comically overperforming in every way essentially

Not in every way. Radar is highly underperforming.

a lot of fm lol, it is extremely over performing. expect around 20% of the performance you see right now in terms of turn rate

That is not how things work in wt. it is not going to be 11x1.5 Gs, that’s nonsense
