Wont be BM variant better option?
Technically it’s part of the RB family, and If I am not wrong it’s a SEAD jet, not a bomber. I also don’t think BM had flares equipped.
What I am trying to get is a MiG-25 with bombs, flares, and R-60s. And that, based on this article, never really happened, but it is plausible. Which type of RB doesn’t really matter as long it gets these features all together, otherwise there is no point in adding a MiG-25 bomber, when you can give bombs to a PD.
Its bomber as well. It carry up to 10x FAB-500. SEAD option is plus when ARM will be thing in future.
10? I though it was 8 max
6 under hull and 4 under wings.
I doubt it. I double-checked, and the only documented configurations ever photographed show 4 bombs under the wings and 8 under the fuselage. (Send me a pic if this is false)
The MiG-25BM was developed from the MiG-25RBK and was specifically designed as a SEAD platform. Even the original post confirms this.
It doesn’t really matter which RB plane they pick for the MiG-25 bomber. As long as it gets countermeasures and R-60 missiles. Otherwise they should just leave it.
Does the MiG-25 PD radar’s MTI behaces the same like mig-23? i hope it isnt like that, and allows MTI on high altitudes and positive elevation angles too.
Looks like a computer generation, this real?
At the end of the day, If it could carry 3 racks on the belly then other RBs can as well.
I cant tell. There is not more info about that. But i cant try find.
Edit: yeah its only model.
MiG-25RB №401 transformed to BM with Kh-58U and bombs.

Hmmm
There was two configuration for 6 hull bombs according to this source:
When I open the source I am seeing an RBT with a normal loadout, where did you get that pic from?
And thanks for the source.
Found it. Also, found a better picture of Libyan bomber.
This source also write about increase of bombs loadouts and write from when it was increased to 6x FAB-500 under hull.

So to sum it up for BM:
- 10x FAB-500M62 (6 under hull - 4 under wings)
- 4x Kh-58U (when ARM become a thing)
- 4x R-60M (many sources write about that but no photos)
- 60x flares (KDS-155 - same countermeasure modules as on PD variant)
Not bad at all.
I don’t think it had flares, that’s the problem. XD
Only one MiG-25RB variant came with flares, and it’s not a BM. Also, the original pylons can still be mounted on the regular RB, so it could theoretically carry R-60s, but I’ll think about it. Matter of fact all of them could carry all of these upgrades, so it is really not that deep which variant we get.
RBSh also had radar warning receivers on the engine nozzles, it was exactly similar to what the Iraqi MiG-25PDs had with flares.
Another problem is that we don’t yet have SEAD in game.
Thats not a big problem. It can use KDS-155 from RB variant due to balance reasons same like in case of MiG-23M/ML/MLA, F-15A or F-5C. Non of them had flares irl. As BM is developed from RB so there is no technical limitation why it should not be able to carry them. Also BM have better RWR (SPO-15 compared to SPO-10).
Kh-58U can get additionally when SEAD will be thing.
Do we even know what bands are available to whatever seeker(s) it has available?
As if the faithfully modeled I don’t think it would be able to even detect many of the Tactical radar’s That it would see as threats. Also considering that it far outranges missiles like the Shrike and Standard-ARM It’s probably not going to be very useful as most relevant targets would be outside the band of the seekers, and the excessive range means it doesn’t really have a direct Western counterpart in any relevant respect.
Also, as the sheet is somewhat depreciated, the AGM-78 B / -C /-D cover E through I / J bands as per
What I know is that it can guide to Osa radar.
