MiG-23MS should not be anywhere above 9.7. It has no countermeasures and it will get beat by a MiG-21S in a cannon dogfight. As a matter of fact it should be exactly where the MiG-23BN is. As they were both used extensively by all the mentioned operators. And MiG-23BN at the time of writing is at 9.7.

No, you have 30 G missiles at 10.0. It can’t compete with a MiG-21BiS. It is simply too weak without flares and chaff. It’ll be perfect at 9.7 with 2 R-13Ms.
Compared to the 9.7 MiG-23BN, it has R-3S, R-13M, and possibly R-3R…
I’d say 10.0 or 10.3 for ARB depending on whether or not it gets R-3R

BRs are too compressed for something like this. It will either be at a dead on arrival BR, or absolutely seal club if below that. Old F14 situation in the 9.x bracket, or a piss bucket above that.
In that case I’d play it in 10+

And it’s kinda trash there because it completely lacks any A2A armament, and its beaten by quite a few 9.3s in the air RB setting. I could see 10.0 depending on if it were to get flares/R-13Ms.

Hmmmm if it’s the 4477th TES version (at least a skin) as event or squadron then I might grind it cuz I really like the Red Eagles’ vibe, but other than that I don’t find the model too attracting.

If its BR is low, it may be a good base bomber (similar to the Mig23bn). If its BR is high, its poor missiles and radar may make it less useful. Anyway,+1.

This would be an awesome addition. The big question is will it be with the flare modification?
If it was flareless it would make a good counterpart to the J35D, assuming it carried the R-13M.
If it had flares I can see it being played as a buffed up Mig-23BN at around 10.7.
War Thunder needs more additions like this, be it as premium, TT or events.

I don’t really see how it could function as effectively as BN. In Ground RB, sure, it could have some utility. But in Air RB, its limited payload would be a serious drawback. It can only carry bombs on the same pylons used for missiles, which significantly restricts its loadout flexibility. At most, you might be able to equip 2x 500 kg bombs under the fuselage instead of R-3S missiles, but that’s about it if you’ll want to keep the R-13Ms.
If it’s introduced with R-3Rs, trying to use it as a bomber in Air RB would honestly be a waste of its capabilities.
That said, in Ground RB, equipping it with rocket pods could actually be a lot of fun, especially if it ends up at 9.7 BR. The only concern is whether it will receive a ballistics computer. It really should tbh.
It wouldn’t make a good base bomber, primarily because it lacks rear fuselage pylons. This significantly limits its bomb load capacity compared to the BN, making it far less effective for base bombing roles.
I should have clarified - Used as a BN in air combat, since I don’t bomb in ARB.

At the end of the day, Gaijin will decide what B.R rating it’ll get.
In one of my earlier drafts for this jet, I had actually suggested adding it to the U.S. tech tree as a premium, event, or squadron vehicle. However, on further reflection, I think it’s better to avoid that approach. Instead, the Constant Peg theme would be best implemented as an optional skin, much like how it’s currently handled for the MiG-21F-13.
