you can’t notch something that is not doppler. You can’t outroll the missile either, it effectively pulls to it’s maximum unlike sparrows that despite having higher G rating they barely pull harder than 15. (talking about aim7f, aim7e2’s are carbon copies of r24r but the radars they tied to are bad)

Its difficult to know for sure what beats what as theres so many unknown varibles.
I still wouldnt use the 23MLD even at 11.3. Thinking about it I dont really get on with any ruski jets. The su27sm is the newest on the dont like list…R77s just no
F-4E doesnt have PD (i think). Mig-23ML does have MTI, which does allow for low level engagement.
Mig-23 also has all-aspect IRs, much better SARH missiles (though in a smaller number) or the R-24Ts which are some of the best non-IRCCM in the game, large calibre CMs (which are a tad OP on everything at that BR) and is stupidly fast. It can also dogfight just fine, just the auto wing sweep I think its a little dodgy.
It is also a great base bomber thanks to Napalm, meaning it outperforms ground attackers like the Tonka in every single respect.
The only reason the Mig-23ML and MLA arent 12.0 is SPO-10, but Mig-23MLD could easily be 12.0 with SPO-15

Theres no way this jet deserves to sit with PD phantoms, F3 and the rest.
F3 is an exception, if it ever gets fixed or finished it could be 12.3, though probably shouldn’t be the same BR as the F18
But I think the PD phantoms and Mig23MLD are pretty close together. At least they are “fine” in SB. (though I still think the MLD is the stronger of the 2)

F3 is a straight up missile bus. I love the pig but a line has to be drawn.
It takes 2 weeks to turn amd isnt even that fast compared to whats around it.
Guns seem to never be factored in these discussions either.
All ruski guns have a mix from low ammo/ bad fire rate/ bad valocity.
Take the J7E. 60 rounds with 4 mid missiles- seen alot lobbying for 11.7, even 12 BR. I dont get it

This is because the FM is a half finished bodge job. But it also should have insane defensive suite which isnt modeled. 352 large calibre flares and 216-432 large calibre chaff would serve it just fine at 12.3
In SB at least, the Mig-23ML/MLD are the same BR as the FRS1 which is subsonic and has the 30mm ADEN. So, in that respect at least. id rather be in the Mig-23. Also in most of the Phantoms, whilst the guns are good, they are in the form of an external gunpod which adds weight and drag, so there is a downside to having said gun.
Guns can be largely secondary as you approach 12.0. If nothing else, i’ve gotten 5 kill games in the F3 without ever firing a round from my gun

But under 12 BR im deffinilty getting more kills with guns than missiles other than the F4E and obviously mig 23 as it only has 2 things, speed and r24.
The only really bad experience throughout IMO is 8.3 and 11.0

You are right in a way. Theres 2 vics the r60s actually half work on- phantoms and harriers.

The worst jet iv ever flown that is somehow rated. Getting the great 24s to lock is exactly zero fun.
Im top tier, GB, US, China and unless the su30 saves the day its been a 100% complete waste of time.

su27 13.0 is great. But j11 13.0 is the same but has better RWR
Su27m isnt good at all as R77s are hot garbage… Chinas J11b is same BR and better
MIG 29smt - i wont even entertain it as the r77s are that bad - just use j11

su27sm has more missiles at least, and theyre better at close range although i probably prefer the pl8b over the 73 and the pl-12 over the r77.
