This will be a really long comment, so strap in to read several pages of pure cope and seethe:
I know this discussion is SPECIFICALLY about the Merkava and its missing buffs, but this issue of inconsistent acceptance of sources and material is also present in the air tree as well.
I think it mostly occurs (both in air and ground) because of this “idea” of what is considered a “primary” and “secondary” source, I’ve seen people bug report the Kfir Block 60, F-16C/D, F-15C Baz Meshupar / F-15I Ra’am, F-16I, Merkava, Namer and whatnot of the israeli tree and still get brushed off.
I’ve seen reports not only from here, but of people giving Gaijin sources STRAIGHT UP from companies such as ELTA, Elisra, Elbit, IAI, and many more without any sort of recognition, pictures of in-service weapons and equipment, either get completely blown off because it’s “not a source” or get “accepted” without any further update or notice for implementation; or in cases of bugs and bad implementations the issue is straight up ignored.
And honestly, I really wanna see the Israeli tree flourish, vehicles such as the Merkava and Namer look absolutely gorgeous, however are quickly shattered out of the illusion of aesthetics by the absolutely questionable implementation of armor and other properties of them. I knew what I got into by trying to research the Israeli tree, but honestly, it gets tiring having to keep my hopes up when everything we receive is indifference.
Like, at this point what else can we provide as evidence? Should we get someone from the IDF? What the hell is left to try? There is a finite number of sources we can access before we start ranging into “le sekrit dokuments” territory.
What can we even do now at this point?
Is this the price one must pay for playing Israel?
