they sadly won’t even model the Namer fully. let alone fix the aps. gaijin has their head in the ground
Like, after all this time. I find it absolutely crazy how the Namer even went through basic QnA. To think someone at Gaijin looked at the vehicle, and said: Yup, that’s correct, the side armor of the Namer CANNOT stop handheld rockets from 1950s.
And then we just got trolled(got no other words) when instead of applying the better armor of the LIC, they nerfed the LIC to the neutered state of the other Merkava. Great stuff.
terrible how the namer weights the same as the merkava in-game but it doesn’t even have any composite modelled other than the frontal armor.
Its like the namer had the same turret as the merkava, holy 20t overweight it has there
Want another funny one? Merkava 3B and C turret side armor. 60mm steel + 250mm composite screen. For a grand total of 94mm effectiveness against APFSDS.
If you remove the 60mm steel, that means the 250mm of composite provides 34mm of protection, or a KE modifier of 0.13x
So we have a mix of composite made of different alloys sandwiches once again providing less protection than Soviet rubber side skirt. Nice, great. One has to wonder why NERA is not just made of rubber instead of whatever this is.
And the worst part yet? Pretty much as soon as you see the word ‘composite screen’ especially in the Israeli tree, expect exactly that modifier of 0.13x
This is pretty much true but merkava had a lot of issues with kornets and a hit to the turret depending on the angle would either totally destroy the slera and run out of energy or causing penetration
Thats why the merkava 4m has an aps mostly to deal with atgms like the kornets
yet the trophy aps hasn’t got its debug for not working…
after the bug was reported and accepted 10 months ago
Actually it has several reports in the forum and in the gaijin net, i texted this to some tech mods and even community managers cuz… why it keeps getting ignored???, the most of them just view my message and ignored me but the only one that answered me told me " i cant tell you when its gonna be fixed but i can tell you that they are actively worked on" … 10 months and they added a new russian aps that works perfectly fine… and then a chinease guy postes some bug about a russian mbt and gets fixed the next patch…
This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.
More than 10 months. Before it was broken to this point, remember it’d fire multiple charges to intercept one munition. Their fix resulted in this! It’s been closer to 16-18 months since the last time it actually worked…
Its all russian bias, they get the aps fix first, the top attack munitions first (lmur day 1 and spikes and hellfires still waiting after years), and the ldircm first (and buged so it is op)
Lol didnt know about that, i just remember a long time ago unlocking the Mk4m and the aps was just smooth and very nice agains vikhrs
For me its just a fact that gaijin tries to buff russia in every way possible, ofc they cant just put for example an irrealistic + 2000mm armor in the t90, but if they can put for example the kh38 with all of its capabilities (even tho it isnt even in service irl) or make the DIRCM protect agains a lots of missles that doesnt protect irl (ofc its another bug but even tho the players makes topics with all the information necessary for the solution of the bug) Gaijin just pass and ignores and keeps going, This with the trophy aps its the same, doesnt matter how many players complaint about this that it wont get fixed, in my personal opinion its because of a political matter (Actual Israel situation). The only way i think they are going to fix this its when they add the abrams sepv3 or leo2a8 with the trophy cuz they wont just add this tanks with a broken aps
This will be a really long comment, so strap in to read several pages of pure cope and seethe:
I know this discussion is SPECIFICALLY about the Merkava and its missing buffs, but this issue of inconsistent acceptance of sources and material is also present in the air tree as well.
I think it mostly occurs (both in air and ground) because of this “idea” of what is considered a “primary” and “secondary” source, I’ve seen people bug report the Kfir Block 60, F-16C/D, F-15C Baz Meshupar / F-15I Ra’am, F-16I, Merkava, Namer and whatnot of the israeli tree and still get brushed off.
I’ve seen reports not only from here, but of people giving Gaijin sources STRAIGHT UP from companies such as ELTA, Elisra, Elbit, IAI, and many more without any sort of recognition, pictures of in-service weapons and equipment, either get completely blown off because it’s “not a source” or get “accepted” without any further update or notice for implementation; or in cases of bugs and bad implementations the issue is straight up ignored.
And honestly, I really wanna see the Israeli tree flourish, vehicles such as the Merkava and Namer look absolutely gorgeous, however are quickly shattered out of the illusion of aesthetics by the absolutely questionable implementation of armor and other properties of them. I knew what I got into by trying to research the Israeli tree, but honestly, it gets tiring having to keep my hopes up when everything we receive is indifference.
Like, at this point what else can we provide as evidence? Should we get someone from the IDF? What the hell is left to try? There is a finite number of sources we can access before we start ranging into “le sekrit dokuments” territory.
What can we even do now at this point?
Is this the price one must pay for playing Israel?
Gaijin accepts info from museums? I remember someone posting a piece of armour from an isarael museum.
Also wonder how classified its the armour from the merkavas?
We need a community manager/community staff that takes care of forwarding these issues directly to Gaijin. The Chinese community had similar issues until they pretty much rebelled and got a new community manager who actually pushed the issues forward to Gaijin. This is the only way, really.
Some of the bug section moderators are straight up great dudes who will do their best to get these changes in, then you have others who shall not be named and will pull up the worst arguments ever, such as: “Eurofighter engine values from manufacturer are marketing lies” but will then close a bug report about the KH-38MT not existing outside of a marketing brochure. All in all, their bug report section is super unreliable because of that.
Sadly, good luck getting noticed enough by Gaijin to push for such a change if you’re not China. Even larger Western trees struggle big times to get changes pushed through that way because the Western community is broken up between all the different trees/nations and often can’t agree on a damn thing.
Fully depends on the bug report staff you’ll be getting. Some will accept them, others will close your bug report sometimes without even giving you a reason. It’s a lottery. Good recent example of it:
Bug report about F-16I ability to carry 16 Spice 250. Primary source from Rafael brochure:
Bug report mod answer:
Can’t make this stuff up. Thankfully, the bug report was later reposted and accepted by another bug report moderator who actually did his job.
Maybe this helps
Just proving some pll on gaijin are hella baised
