I stated auto loader issue on other threads before, it’s true that Type-90 and Leclerc also benefits from same method but in return none of them gets similiar protection or spall liner compare to T-Series.
Victim pose will not get you anywhere in this case.
Type 90, and by extension the Type 10s are infinitely less survivable than the T series, and they are ultimately just moving weakspots, this is a veritable non issue.
Whereas the Merkava has the same issue, albeit without the gleeming mobility or 4s reload…
They simply aren’t protected enough, upon stock grinding my Merkava Mk4M recently, I’ve spent a good 70% of the matches with 2 crew because any shots (whether aimed at the engine, side or just glancing blows) seem to execute my commander and loader, despite having a max level, expert crew.
The turret face just needs a rework to be a bit more tanky, as I refuse to believe that a 2a4’s turret cheek can provide more protection than the modern composite/SLERA blend of the MK4s.
I guess skill matters more than damage models to gaijin, as statistical performance somehow gives them grounds to ignore fixing minor nation armour (applies to Type 10s, Chally, Ariete, ZTZs, leclercs, etc)
LIC variant used to have good turret enough to block DM53 back to couple years ago
I don’t understand instead they buff other MK4 to LIC level why they removed turret armor from LIC.
Funny that when the turret can stop rounds, it’s marked as bugged lol, gaijin should address these decisions in a roadmap post or something, MBT armour reworks are desperately needed, not these internal modules (which just decrease the survivability, and by extension enjoyability of top tier, since bad armour modelling + massive modules = repair simulator)
Probably the best thing that came out from all this copypaste slop is the ability to gauge different tanks between nations and average player skill from nation to nation.
France is the best example of how this can work in our favor to judge the actual performance of certain minor nation’s vehicles, in this case the Leclercs. We can start by comparing French 2A4 to the German one, which shows us that French players on average are indeed better than German ones, and this is also backed up by comparing 2A5/6s found in both trees.
That said, NL Leopards and Leclercs are trading blows month by month, meaning Leclercs should be a decent peer to 2A5/6s, which also aren’t terrible at 12.0. In my opinion, the main problem at 12.0 is that overperforming tanks like uparmored Leopards are stuck there, so it’s easy to see how other vehicles might struggle at the same BR.
Powercreep should be dealt with by adding more BRs, not by adding more creep, as tanks at the lower BR will continue to exist.
I think FR and JP top tier players should be complaining the least, as they have decently competitive tanks.
Entire nature of tank warfare is whoever shoot first, usually wins. And winner usually have merit of having time to aim, you don’t need accurately modeled armor for that.
That is an abysmal handwave in a game where the first shot’s success is dictated by UFP armour and breach volumetric, good aim can be countered with literal RNG for the ‘Meta’ tanks
Who’s victim posing? I don’t think you understand the phrase.
I stated fact that the type 90s are arguably more survivable than the T series tanks now.
Lower overall protection however the additional modules allow for more mistakes compared to a few years ago when even 9.3s would one tap it.
Also I’ve almost every nation at top tier so I belong to none of them.
The Type 90s are massively more survivable than the T series now for penning shots.
The type 10 I’ve not got yet but its a work in progress as the days go by.
The T series almost always die in one shot, it’s far too compact to survive any actually placed shots, in comparisson the type 90 generally will soak more hits into modules without causing a knockout spall.
I will not comment on the MK4 merkavas as i just have not used them, the Mk3s are a bit of a hit or miss for surviving hits in my extremely limited experience with them.
Though i do thoroughly enjoy them.
I do also believe we need them to get at least some attention in their armour, absolutely no hull composites makes next to no sense.
As far as the experience goes, they are my favourite tanks in game, closely followed by the Type 10.
The perfect mix of mobility and firepower, alongside the fact that it’s a niche tank and looks great
I’ll take literally anything that gives it protection against rushed shots (like most top tier tanks), but right now that protection comes from the spacious crew layout as opposed to armour, and in the MK4’s case, the crew always takes the hit
I really did like the 9.3 now 9.7 merkavas as well, found them extemely fun to use for their BRs, like you say something different.
Quite like the chinese MBTs as well to be honest, they’re nice and fun too.
Thats something im noticing now with more mk3 games, that the enemy can afford to essentially rush and waste a round if im caught even slightly off guard.
Don’t get me wrong though, the mk3 120mm dart is potent as hell
I mean they are offensively incredibly good, and among the strongest of the minor nations, and the choice between more spall (M322) and more pen (M338) is really nice, paired with the 5-ish second reload makes it a really capable platform, and I prefer those rounds to DM53 personally, as they always seem to one shot or critically damage (or maybe my aim has improved lol).
Paired with improved armour and a fixed APS, the merkava mark 4s are top 5 MBT in the game imo, and could definitely take a place next to the 2a7/122s when it comes to overall performance
More weight = more spall
Extra pen = less spall, because the dart is penetrating further, while weighing less so it’s obviously going to kick up less spall
It literally is, the M322 shell generates more spalling due to it’s extra weight and velocity, but feel free to debate the numbers, not like any of your other assumptions in this thread hold any weight
Entire “aim for weakspots” has been watered down to lower plate and gun mantlet area like its some Almost Working Armored Warfare.
And even if you don’t oneshot someone through gun mantlet area, they are out of the fight and best they can do is sod off with reverse, if you don’t clip the engine somehow.
