Mah boat would sink that in like 1-2 shots fr. Never stood a chance. XD
Well I might complete it on accident. Its not like I need anymore BP points now ¯\ _ (ツ)_/¯

Already did that in like 6-7 battles on accident.
Any suggestion how to get the last challenge done?
I can scout, and I get the report, that the target has been killed. But no progress. Do I need to sacrifice a virgin too?
In Ground Arcade to get the Intelligence award, you must scout an enemy tank before your teammate (the one that kills it) notices it. So basically it’s about your positioning on the map (on some maps it’s easy, on other maps it’s hard).
If you want to see how I scout (I use this mechanics often to exp Light Tanks), you can check a few videos on my channel:
Thanks.
Is it any different in realistic?
Not at all, scout people and hope your team kills them
Yeah, just like @_Poul said, you gotta scout BEFORE your teammates see them to get the “Intelligence” award. What I find helps with that is pushing up (safely) as far forward as you can ASAP in a match, staying hidden, using binoculars so you can see over hills a little easier, and then scouting. It can be any tank Rank 3 and up, so whatever fast light tank you have.
If you do Arcade, it helps to use a light tank with a low visibility stat. The lower it is, the harder it is for the enemies to see you, and will be easier to stay hidden and keep scouting. (Lower visibility subtracts from their keen vision stats. So if they can normally see at 1km, and your tank is 70% visibility, they have to get to 700m before you will show up. A visibility stat above 100% does the exact opposite.)
Happy hunting!
I read the wiki and found the info that some “select few tank destroyers” can scout too. Is there a list or a way to tell which?
The new wiki doesn’t have a way to select “active scouting” yet, but the old wiki has a great tree/list: https://old-wiki.warthunder.com/Scouting
Not only are there a couple of SPGs that can scout, there are a handful of SPAAs that can too 👍
Many thanks. When reading the new wiki, I came across a statement that might simplify the task tremendously:
Reward is granted only if the destroyed enemy was not clearly visible to your ally before the scouting or their destruction, or if the attacker is your squadmate.
If this is true, the task may be easy with a squad mate that cooperates.
Updates:
I am getting the hang of it now. While I managed to get 2 (two) intelligence awards last night, I got 5 in the last 2 games. I had 5x Intelligence as medium task today, so that is taken care of. (I kept the task first time ever)
What shall I say? That dreaded challenge turns into fun. In fact, as many times before, these challenges can teach you something new IF you are willing to give it a try. And I realize why Poul spades light tanks with it. You get to bomb the shit out of the red team. And you tend to live long, which is the key for RP. Suddenly light tanks make sense in arcade… Great!
On a more scientific side, I tried the above Wiki quote: ( Reward is granted … if the attacker is your squadmate.)
I followed the green guy and when he engaged a lone enemy, I “spotted” it. He killed it a few seconds later. I did not receive the award. He had seen it before. The this part of the rules makes no sense to me. Why do they mention your squadmate explicitly, if he is not different from anyone else?
It would be nice if someone could shed some light on this squadmate rule.
Random squadmates are not treated the same as pre-made squadmates. The funny thing is, even if you want to talk to your random squadmate you will see the message “you are not in the squad”.
I don’t know for sure, because I don’t play in squads, but I assume you have to be in a pre-made squad for this mechanics to work like you described. But I don’t play in squads, so I can’t confirm this.
If scouting works this way in pre-made squads, then it should be a much easier way to exp Light Tank (and some SPGs and SPAAs with scouting).
But to be honest, like you noticed, it’s not that hard even when you play alone, if you only know what you are doing. Just focus on Intelligences, use planes, kill enemies with them, enjoy the high scores. If your positioning is correct it’s one of the easiest way to play. This also helps your team. I’m actually surprised that so few players use the scouting mechanics in Ground Arcade battles.
There are just so many buttons on a controller setup…
My kids gave me a Stream Deck for xmas a year ago. And that has been a great gift indeed. Labeled buttons in any menu structure you like!
Did anyone ever buy a rank I-III talisman in the store and received rank I or II?
When I did, I got rank III. I just wonder if rank I and II are potential downgrades for nations where rank III not yet exists (like the reserves). I wouldn’t mind rank III talis, but not if they are only an option.
Is the HMS Jervis worth it if you aim to mostly just play naval to make use of your universal backups and SL boosters?
I’m frustrated to learn that the Ki-43-II is american rather than japanese. Would’ve loved it in the japanese tree, it feels wrong to use it as american though. Would get it still if it’s better than the Jervis - still arguably usable in ASB lobbies where japan is bluefor or absent.
Not really. I’m not sure why you would want this particular ship for SL grinding.
The best SL grinders currently in Naval Arcade are:
It’s free for warbonds :v.
Oh I see. I assume you didn’t get the USS Moffett, when it was available in the Warbond shop?
The HMS Jervis is not a bad destroyer, but it’s also not the greatest, especially with how compressed the Naval is. You will very often face 5.0 destroyers with it and that’s not fun.
If you decide to buy it, just use the SAP shells, aim for ammo racks and hope for explosions. Take some HE-VT shells too, to kill planes.
But if you really want to grind SL quickly and effectively, I recommend one of the 3 ships mentioned in my previous post.
I leisurely completed the intelligence task. Learned something new.
I still have to get the “Controlled Rage” done.
I wonder if one can hit planes with AGMs in arcade?
I am pushing this a bit because I suffer from WB overflow. I need to buy something asap.
Has anyone here tried that offer?
Still on 1/10 in “controlled rage”.
I have been trying this yesterday, but made no progress. I understand it that I have to use an air vehicle and kill any player, but with a guided rocket made for ground or sea targets.
So it basically boils down to two basic approaches:
Either play air realistic and somehow kill a plane with it. Never done it before. But at least you can try all the time
Or play a mode where you have to get spawnpoints first and then spawn a plane/heli with a legit weapon loaded. And then proceed.
In arcade ground, you can’t use 50% of the missions, because planes do not have such a loadout. (It might actually be a general idea to swap many dumb yet ccip bombs for guided ammo in that mode)
In the other 50%, your chopper is usually dead before it’s missile has reached the tank.
The obvious choice would be ground RB, but I am likely not good enough to farm the spawn points.
Any reliable way to deal with this challenge? It is worth 75 points for me.
