McDonnell Douglas TF-18A (BuNo 160784) : The Tea Sipping Hornet

Give me all the F/A-18As

I’m not usually a fan of tested aircraft as it usually opens a can of worms, and thus, I think that this addition should be left for the UK tree only in case of Dire Straits. This suggestion was made more as a response to some other suggestions on this forum which have a much less realistic background. I think we all know which ones these are.

+60,000 (Surely this helps) 6 Mavs sounds awesome.

Interesting idea for an addition to the British TT…
If this doesn’t come as a direct addition, then maybe if the British TT gets either a Canadian or Australian F/A-18B, I could see this being represented as a skin for either aircraft. Either way, +1

I mean if it does come, its probably better fitted as an event, it just seemed too good to pass up when i was given all those sources about it.

Is this different in any way to the other hornets?

could we stop with copy and paste top tiers for crying out loud

What missiles is this YF-17 carrying?

Mockups of either an AIM-7 Sparrow or Skyflash, and AIM-9B

I don’t think they are mock ups, they look like inert/training weapons just for testing but what do I know about British tested F-teen series jets

Typically, inert/training rounds have blue parts. Mockups tend to be all white with some fancy striping (or zero striping at all), though it really depends on who’s testing them

I see 2 orange strips in front of the front fins of the AIM 9 and a single orange strip halfway between the AIM 7’s fins

90% sure they sre just mockups of the Sparrow and Sidewinders

I dont even think the YF-17 was fitted with a radar to fire the sparrows lmao
