It wouldn’t remove too many vehicles only the Skink and ADATs are tech tree and the Ram II is premium the rest are event and they don’t touch event vehicles. So not too much.
The thing is that the ADATS is the top SPAA for britain and there isnt another option to add; the Rapier tracked is 10.3 best, any of the Blowpipe equiped SAMs would likely be between the ZA-35 and Stormer, and the sky sabre is multi vehicle and would require a whole new mechanic just for a new SPAA for britain and japan.
Theres far easier nations to be added before canada like yugoslavia or a united korean tree, and gaijin has been open about using canadian vehicles as gap fillers before.
Warrior low profile hull is the same ADATS as on the Canadian one but with a warrior hull.
was this actually tested though or was it just a mock up/ private venture?
I mean they also don’t move everything over or leave things in the old tree as C&P. Franch still has a Fisnish SPAA.
Yugoslavia would be nice and Korea would be another Israil style tree I’d rather nations that could start in WW2 first.
yeah, from what I think, if Canada is NOT added before they implement this it should go to Britain, however if it IS in the game then it should got there instead and Britain could potentially get an Australian F/A-18C instead.
if it was added to the US TT it would most likely be an event vehicle and I don’t think a lot of Canadians would be happy about their best Jet fighter being a one off vehicle, especially when the US has up to 7 hornet variations it could get with the B,D and F also potentially being event vehicles
AFAIK the turret was actually fitted to the chassis to show that it was indeed viable. I believe it was intended to compete against the Stormer HVM but the Stormer had interoperability so was chosen instead.
CF188? There’s a YTP joke in there somewhere…
Great suggestion, cool plane, and +1!

Whether given to the British TT or possibly the Canadian TT in the future, this aircraft is excellent.
If given the British TT, it can create an intermediate model in the middle of the F-4 and the Typhoon (JAS-39 is, after all, only single-engine, it is too small)
If higher performance airframes come with AMRAAMS and the EFT is refused to be added this can be a good stop gap
Quite agree.
If it gets added to the UK tree, I figured it would go to rank 8 after the Phantom FG.1 (or after the Sea Harrier FA.2 when that gets added to the game), just to give something to that tech tree line and because the F-18 was originally a naval jet design
Depends which version of the CF-18 gets added, since the original CF-18 couldn’t fire AMRAAMs, but the 2001 CF-18 IMP modernization replaced the radar set with an APG-73 and AMRAAM capability.
Of course this is way out of scope of the current game but one day we could see the CF-18 HEP with the AESA CA/APG-79 radar and AIM-9X/AIM-120D (this modernization started in 2020 and just wrapped up)
Agree
Since RAF line get SA JAS39, it’s good for Naval line to get new top jet.
My guy south Africa is a sub tree we can get what ever they use and two why does Canada belong to the Americans three we will have a gap in our naval line in which it can fit and two what does weapons have to do with anything
Plus if it go to the US it would become an unattainable event vehicle. It wouldn’t in the UK.
For the CF-18 to come into the game best order would be:
- Canadian tech-tree (Tech-tree plane)
- UK (90% chance of tech-tree plane)
- US (100% Unattainable event vehicle)
it would add nothing to the US tree
The Uk tree it would fill a gap
A canadian Tech Tree or joint commonwealth tree (Canada, Australia and New Zealand) would be ideal
Another option is to change britain into a CANZUK + SA mega tree but that seems like a far stretch
Id say unless either of those happen the CF-18 should go to britain so canadians can actually enjoy their main fighter
it would be wasted as an event plane
Hence it is listed as an Unattainable event vehicle.
Compared to the other two being called Tech-tree planes.
