The Round which Ukraine uses which could do that is no other than the 125mm 3BM-42 APFSDS.
What appears to have happened is that the round hit exactly the area where the RELIKT simply failed to activate.
In the Post OP, I have calculated that the T-80BVM base hull armour is rated 503mm KE LOS along 68 degrees without ERA.
3BM-42 defeats 491-560mm LOS along 68 degrees within 0-2000m range
Which means T-80BVM which has 503mm LOS along 68 degrees base hull protection was penetrated because the RELIKT failed to do its job. Although, some of the RELIKT elements did act as slight additional armour in front of the main hull.
HOWEVER in War Thunder the T-80U, T-80BVM base hull armour overperforms so much, 3BM42 is nowhere near capable of penetrating the base hull armour even at point blank range
Well, a very dubious photograph that does not identify itself in any way, despite the fact that the identification mark looks very good than the tank itself.
As for penetration, everything is the same, there could be several hits of shells
Different angle of the tank. Note on previous photo the penetration is on the right hand side near the bottom of the 3rd RELIKT block from the left. The penetration is in the exact same spot in this photo.
T-80BVM is just 220mm thick composite at 68 degrees - 587mm LOS
My calculation shows that the base hull is equivalent to 188.4mm at 68 degrees - 503mm LOS
587 / 503 = 0.86x KE effectiveness
When APFSDS penetrates 188.4mm at 68 degrees - 503mm LOS, it defeats 404mm KE at 0 degrees.
3BM42 penetrates: 395mm at 2000m at 0 degrees, 450mm at 0m at 0 degrees
So 0 degrees is considered a straight line, just like 90 degrees. The calculation of penetration is just calculated from the location of, for example, the upper frontal part of 68 degrees, respectively, it cannot have the same values as at 0.
No need to, I also already play the game before.
Also the old forum is gone cause its architecture was bad compared to this one, that’s it.
No grand conspiracy.
