M1A2C Abrams: Heavy Cavalry!

War Thunder is simply a game that is too biased toward its own nation.
If the Abrams were Soviet, it would probably have a 1000 mm thick lower front plate.

And despite all of this, U.S. players who don’t have a proper SPAA or effective CAS continue to win.

This shows the skill of the players who play the U.S. tech tree and continue playing despite all the nerfs and the constant buffs to the USSR at top tier.

DONT DIRECT HIT THEM OMGGGGGG

any IFV will die almost all of the time from a TOW-2B.

Worst statement than Reddih users.

Took me 2 minutes :

And most of the time, it is an overpressure.
If you want to make the hit count more, you can lower the missile ith the cursor, to make it explode just over the turret (not ON it as you did).

Are you serious?

You think that Strv 122, of all tanks, is the one to need a buff (it just got DM53, by the way) while having the best armor and mobility in the entire game (now among the best firepower too), while M1A2 SEPv3 doesn’t deserve its RIGHTFUL armor because flavour-of-the-month led it to have a good Win Rate?

Are WRs really ALL that matters to you? Not real balance, not historical accuracy… only PLAYER stats?

Then I hope you were around asking for nerfs for Ariete back when it had one of the highest WRs in Top Tier, when it sat at the same BR as the Leopard 2A5/6s but it just had better WRs because, guess, WRs are not absolute representatives of a vehicle’s actual technical capabilities.

And most importantly: there should be no “buffs” or “nerfs”: only TRUE and accurate depictions AFTERWARDS balanced via BRs and soft factors (reload times, munition choices, etc).

Gaijin has repeatedly stated that they would never artificially alter the armor of a tank “for balance” and we should abide by their own marketed policy.

Clearly not all US players are as skilled as you claim, since you are a US player and pretty bad.

And are you really talking about “real balance” or are you talking about your personal seriously distorted perception of what would be balanced?

No.
SEPv3 send a anti-ERA M823A3 every 5 seconds, same for the M1A2 Trophy.
Type 10 and TKX send a 615mm pen dart every 4s.
Centauro II (P) sends DM53 every 5s.
Ariete, Ariete AMV, Ariete PSO sends DM53 in 5s.
M1A2T and M1A2 (UK) sends KE-W A2 (628mm pen) every 5 seconds.
CV90120 sends every 5s a 600mm pen dart.
Merkava’s send a 611mm pen dart every 5.5s.
Those have a good firepower.
Only T-90’s, ZTZ/VT4A1 and Lepoard 2A6 or 7/Strv 122’s cannot shoot under 6s.

And the Type 10 family doesn’t since it is a sub-tree ? Nor challies ? Nor the Oplot ?

Why did they put the L-39ZA/ART 7.3 → 7.7 ?
ah, yes, maybe a k/d of 4.
So yes, when I see that a tank have a k/d of 2 and is still being investigated for buffs, I kind of think… why not others ?

Absolutely not.

I am referring to the amount of energy given by the community to try to find a slighty better armor (that acutally doesn’t change a lot, I mean an LFT going from something like 300mm to 450… You are playing against apfsds going trough 60+cm, and missiles going trough more than 1m.
Those gigantic efforts and money (paying people to try to find the barely unclassified like that isn’t free) should be used for tanks that are in much more need.

Not artificially , but they choose their fight.
Recently, by example, Relikt armor got a gigantic buff.
While it is known Japan Type 10 cost an insane amount of money because it’s armor is a modular composite made of nano-crystal steel combined with ceramic composite layers, made to stop RPG’s. In-game, the armor solidity is just the same as other composite layered armor.
In a penetration resistance test, Type 10 rounds were fired at the hull from a distance of 250 m (270 yd). Each armor module and gun mantlet achieved the required performance specified in “Type 10 tank GV-Y120001E”.

Protection against 120mm kinetic penetrators is limited to the front of the hull, turret, and gun mantlet, with the exception of the lower glacis.

The top armor can effectively counter explosively formed penetrators and related threats.

Pretty sure almost none of those is currently possible in-game, unless you hit the angle of the UFP/LFP.
Want more ?

have fun.

Yeah, nah. If you don’t count Russia, US players are the worsts.

The complete lack of awareness there is quite astonishing.

The M1A2 SEP v3 is now arguably the #1 tank in the entire game, while the T-90M is the shared (together with the VT4A1) worst 12.7 tank in the entire game, and the T-80BVM being somewhere in the bottom 30-50% of top-tier MBT’s.

You’re just a Gaijin defender trying to convince players that there’s no bias. You’re here 24/7 without a day off. I’d even bet you’re a Gaijin Entertainment employee.

How can U.S. players be considered worse when they’re fighting with objectively weaker vehicles against the USSR, whose top-tier vehicles have been consistently buffed and are equipped with superior weaponry?

The T-90M has the best protection and survivability in the game, largely thanks to its heavily buffed fuel tanks that can absorb APFSDS rounds, as well as spall liners that seem to absorb nearly all spall—and sometimes even the projectile itself. It also has some of the smallest weak spots among top-tier MBTs.

Its main drawbacks are reverse speed and gun depression. But T-90M players rarely need to reverse. They simply hold W and drive straight toward the enemy, often exposing their side, because they know the fuel tanks, spall liners, or even the autoloader will absorb the damage, giving them enough time to fire back. On top of that, they still don’t have to worry about turret drive damage in the same way other tanks do.

If the Abrams had that level of protection, U.S. players at top tier would probably have a K/D ratio of at least 2.

If War Thunder’s meta were primarily about armour, you’d have a point, but it isn’t.

War Thunder’s meta = Mobility + First hit cripple/kill.

T-90M has the literal worst firepower of any 12.7 and literal worst mobility of any 12.7. One of those would be really detrimental, but both of them is just completely crippling in War Thunder’s meta.

It’s also extremely obvious you’ve never played the T-90M given all of your misconceptions stem from only facing it and not having experienced it’s crappiness yourself. It’s the typical US main that thinks ‘‘Grass is always greener on the other side’’.

  • And the atrocious reload.
  • And complete lack of acceleration or top speed.
  • And lack of neutral steering and the atrocious reverse steering.
  • And it’s extremely wide profile in combination with the wide hull ammunition storage which makes city fights/corner peeking impossible without being one-shot.

See? If you’d actually played it yourself you would’ve known about all of it’s drawbacks, instead of just a minority of it’s issues.

Ok, let’s imagine that US players are better than Russia.
What about Germany, UK, Japan, China, france, sweden, Israel or Italy ?

You are the most american main of all american mains.
You are the cliché of the US main.
Says all the time that US ground and air needs to be ‘saved’, everything is bad because Russia has everything better, and want a LFP on abrams that can stop a DM-73.

I wonder about the turret of sepv3/m1a2c what distinction can be made between earlier models and current ones

Note that the first picture lacks the “chiseled” flat spots next to the gun
And I more specifically mean what should we call them to distinct the two from each other

Armor absolutely does matter. Trust me—when you fire at a T-90M or T-80BVM that drives out exposing its side, and your APFSDS round simply disappears into the fuel tank, or the spall liner absorbs all the fragments and the only thing you manage to damage is the autoloader, armor definitely matters.
Or when a T-90M is constantly pivoting in place, making its weak spots extremely difficult to hit. Trust me, armor makes a huge difference.

Its firepower may be worse, but the T-90M is fighting Abrams and Leopard tanks, which have very little armor in comparison. It doesn’t really matter whether the T-90M’s shell penetrates 450 mm or 600 mm the lower front plate and the turret ring of NATO tanks can be penetrated by almost anything.

NATO tanks are essentially cardboard in terms of armor. Gaijin deliberately modeled their armor so that 3BM60 rounds would have no trouble penetrating them.

You have a 7-second reload without needing to level your crew, and your reload speed doesn’t depend on crew members surviving.

As for the turret drive, it technically exists, but it’s represented by a tiny gear in the turret ring. The only way to disable it is to hit that tiny component with a very precise shot.

What? A wide tank profile? What are you talking about? Stop making things up.

I’m just here to challenge your delusions or borderline lies. Making sure you know that you are a mediocre player is part of that.

I wish, at least that would mean I’d get paid for dealing with people like you.

You’re the most Russian main of all the Russian mains. Can you tell me how much you pay to rent your apartment in Moscow?

With your level of skill (or lack thereof) and the things you posted earlier, it’s hard to trust anything you say regarding the game.

If you’re not even getting paid and you’re doing this for free, then I honestly feel sorry for you. You’re basically a volunteer being exploited by a company.
