M1A2 SEP V2 doesnt have better LFP armour

oh well. Seems like they are not changing anything

Start writing suggestions for the test vehicles for each Abrams variant.

Because every test vehicle from the M1E1 to the SEPv3 had a steel plate welded to the front of the hull for weight simulation. As far as i can tell anyways.

Also would just be funny the M1E1, the test vehicle that became A1 would have better hull armor than the SEPv2 in game

here is two ways Gaijin could buff a tank:
1 by giving it historic armor and DU inserts
2 by buffing all it’s crew members to supermen and giving it 5 second reload

unsurprisingly they went for the latter

Won’t matter the devs obviously dont want to give the Abrams more armor to keep it gimped.

Just remember M829A3 with an anti-ERA tip would not actually improve the Abrams ability to defeat ERA.

How can they not add a steel plate added externally to the model?

Oh yeah, I forgot “giving it it’s main round that it used in service”

real cool Gaijin, real cool

Best I can do is structural steel modifiers.

I mean I am sure a 750KE hull, a 700+pen round would do NOTHING to it’s in game presence…but 5 second reload will!

Still better than they would have made the SEPv3 if added.

at this point I’d settle for the fucking 18-inch (457mm) lower front plate referenced in Clancy’s Armored Cavalry for fuck’s sake.

This has to be a joke? Gaijin, come one. Even for you this is laughable. No upgrades to the hill armor? M829a3 wouldn’t provide an improvement? Just come out and admit you hate the US tech tree and be done with it.

I would like to see them get that armor wrong too. “oh that fact that it is physically thicker doesn’t say anything about KE values we need NUMBERS”

It’s also hardly the buff Gaijin makes it out to be if the tank in question has a dead loader most of the time due to shitty armor and survivability.

If the actual dev blog comes out and it say something like " du inserts only exists in 5 test vehicles and we don’t have numbers " I am going to go insane.

Yeah I’m already typing a negative review on steam. I know it seems childish and likely won’t do much, but I really don’t care.

Seeing as their “authentic and realistic vehicles” claim is a lie, I’m fine with writing a negative review about that to let potential new people know that.

It’ll be fantastic, especially since I’ve dug up like 3 different estimates of that put it at either:

  • 457mm per Clancy’s Armored Cav (just for baseline M1A2)
  • Michael Haskew putting it at about 700mm on the lower front plate for SEP 1
  • Paul Lakowski putting it at 750mm on the lower front plate for SEP 1

I’m so ticked off. The US is my favorite tech tree but it hasn’t been worth playing US top tier ground in years. And every time they update with tree with a so called newer model those newer models are more and more useless due to tons of added weight for no in game benefit. I wonder if Gaijin ever stops and asks themselves why the Abrams gained that extra weight? I am not spending any money during the Christmas sale. There are a couple of premiums I was looking forward to buying this year but my own little protest of Gaijins idiotic logic will be keeping my card in my wallet this year. Money seems to be the only thing they listen to. So, let them hear!
