+1, I’d love to see this get added! The US tech tree could use more SPAA, and this would be perfect for that role!
That said, there are a few burning questions I have about the T22 gun that I haven’t found many concrete answers about online. Like, did it (or at least could it) fire the other 75mm projectiles like M61? How much ammunition did it carry? And what was the max elevation and depression?
I really like this vehicle but i have to know, how much ammunition can it carry if any at all?
The is pretty important to know and can it fire any sort of AP round? for in game purposes a SPAAG being able to defend itself is pretty important
Atm, no AP round is known. I think it’s unlikely there was one. The gun is the predecessor to the Skysweeper, which only had HE rounds in service. They probably wanted to stick to AA ammunition.
It might have a SAP round option. The M48E2 HE round known to have been fired from the T22 is a variant of the M48 HE round used on the Sherman and most other US 75 mm guns. If the explosive cavity and hole for the fuze remained relatively unchanged from the M48 round, then it would be compatible with the M78/M78A1 concrete-piercing fuze. This fuze had a solid steel tip, which functionally turns the HE round into a SAP round, though penetration would remain rather low because of the unfavorable penetration modifiers SAP rounds usually get.
this would be a amazing filler for in between the M163 and skink depending on how it performs

If it doesn’t have an SAP round or AP round it should be added with the proxy rounds stock.
However my question still remains, how much ammo does the vehicle itself carry and i also wonder how deep its magazine is.
God i wish they just put the skysweeper on a mobile platform or something.
United Shoe Machinery Corporation was apparently tasked with designing such a thing at some point, but I doubt it reached the prototype phase and I don’t have access to the documents to confirm (locked behind paywall).

Sometimes I think about the addition of towed guns to WT, would be quite handy to fill gaps in lower tiers
Now that’s one hell of a juicy steak to enjoy, maybe it can replace the stupid skink C&P and end up maybe in 5.3 - 5.7 (firerate is still very bad holy moly)
