It’s not a light tank, it’s in the range of 42 tons
20 tons lighter then the M1 its a light tank
Okay, all Russian MBT’s are light tanks also then.
They are light due to their design western tanks are bigger
Light tanks are not just how heavily they are
M10 is used in the light tank roll due to it being lighter and faster then the main mbt
don’t act like it isn’t a light tank
I mean if you ask the manufacturer, the CV90-105 XC-8 (aswell as the TML) are medium tanks.
I mean, all these terms are very broad in terms of roles they can fill. The only time you get something specific is if you read the mission goals for a vehicle.
The us military has yet to designate them light tanks. It may be lighter but it’s the same speed as modern MBT’s. I’m not sure where the 42 tons is coming from tho.
That could go for any vehicle.
its light then the M1 though right
Idk I’ve never weighed it my self…… have you?(sarcasm)
All I know is a light tank does not weigh 42 tons. It’s a medium western tank. Lights tank also should be more maneuverable, which this tank is not.
No, according to the manufacturer of the 2 variants of the CV90 105. A medium tank is roughly 25 tons.
Therefore in a relative sense we for some reason have to say the M10 is a heavy tank
Does this show these categories are stupid to compare in a relative sense?
No because the booker weighs 42 tons. Why does it weigh so much? It’s got to be heavily armored. I consider it a medium tank because of its cannon but could be a MBT because of its weight and speed. It’s the red headed step child of tanks
You know every modern western tank weighs 20 tons more
Why do you keep saying that? It doesn’t matter if western MBT’s weigh more. It’s not a light tank
it does as that what you compare it to
No, no it doesn’t
it does mate its a light tank it what it is
Yeah thats basically as much as the M26 and IS-2 and IS-3 heavy tanks.
And according to categorization by guns the caliber of 105mm is in the region of heavy tanks.
Its almost twice the weight of the medium tank CV90 105. And therefore clearly has to be a heavy tank.
I dont get it why one would care at all about these arbitrary categorizations.
You and the other guy are arguing/replying against each other to me. 😂 one is saying it’s a heavy tank by definition and the other one is saying it’s a light tank because it’s lighter than another tank. Wtf 😆
No, no it’s not mate
If its not obvious, im saying its all actually just stupid.
The categories are so broad and undefined they are at best based on whatever vibes the public has about it.
