Luchs A2: War Paws

Since it is German, how much of the Vehicle is needlessly and deliberately wrong?

7.3 on the dev right now i think

This is great and all but can the rest of nations besides Russia get competent spaas ?

Yes is good but the problem is entire premiun/rare line up meanwhile the 2 pretty boys of Gaijin Russian and USA have a plenty of TT and premiun tanks in the same BR.
Is the luchs a good addition ? yes, but is not enough.

Cuz Gaijin dont play his own game and give the BRs to vehicles because looks similar.

Does the luchs have the engine sound level correctly modeled?

Good question. Irl it was like a silent running submarine…

I’ve just tested it and it sounds like a BTR-80A. So, no, it’s not “silent” like IRL.

Another useless filler light vehicle, i have never seen anyone perform well in one of those 20mm only vehicles, not in the anti ground or anti air role. Whenever i see one of them it feels like same as when running into someone uptiering their m22…

Does ayone have the Tankograd book about the Luchs?
It cannot move up a slight hill because they only gave it 4 gears. I need a second source to prove that it has a torque converter.

It doesn’t actually, not how it’s currently modeled at least

It has no brakes currently and the transmission ruins the one key feature it has but I’ll try to get that fixed.
Apart from that there’s nothing wrong really.

You can see the Luchs climb a steep slope at 2:05 in this video, I don’t know what the narrator says but the visuals are there.

Hope it helps

Thanks. We all know Gaijin’s disdain toward Germany and NATO vehicles, gotta be on alert.

Maybe this is the source you already have, maybe not, anyways I’m posting it here :)

That’s not a source they accept

Why do you bother. Its a 7.3 vehicle with 60mm pen. So what…as already mentioned: Its like uptiering a 1.x BR reserve tank to high tier. Wiesel is already there with superior thermals, mobility and superior size (its super small). And: Even Wiesel is mostly useless. The pen is just not sufficient to take out most of enemy tanks, not even from the side or behind.

Oh it is sufficient, just not against Russian tanks which are your opponent in most matches

60mm of pen is plenty adequate as long as you can flank and know where to shoot. The UsH 204 GK and the R3 T20 FA-HS are both great examples of this in practice. I’ve been able to handily take out Panthers and Shermans in the UsH 204 GK, and if you go on YouTube, you can see the same being done with the R3 T20 FA-HS.

You might not be able to kill a tiger with it, but since the Luchs A2 is going into the German tree, the only things you really need to worry about are the Soviet IS tanks. Everything else you should (hopefully) be able to penetrate with solid aim.

Super smart post. At a BR vs Panthers and shermans with their super thin side armors… Were talking about 7.3, where every russian tank has all around armor 60mm+. I had so many matches in my Wiesel where I drove circles around enemy tanks without ability to pen them.
