well, good to know F-22 will remain competitive even against the latest AAM
idk why but seems normal caliber to me
I say 5 to 10 years should be enough, many of the ones we already have has very guessed stats…
Maybe. The 2" x 2" ones would be large though no?
I’m not really sure about it, but seems that the rectangular hole would be for the 1" x 2" (MJU-7 size; in-game large caliber) CMs. So it could accommodate 144 small caliber CMs.
So would the 2x2 MJU-10 be XL countermeasures?
One MJU-10 is roughly the same size as two MJU-7s, so 36 rounds would be the maximum.
Yeah, those numbers make sense to me. Thanks.
That’s a brilliant argument, I’m pleased I’ve come across it as you have raised very interesting points. I’ve seen a supporting argument in your favour that you should check it out: 1. Su-57's radar suite is actually better, F-22 is ageing badly. [Not Ragebait] - #375 by Qu_Rahn
Recent reports suggested F22A could launch AGM179 and GBU58B
I did lmao
Praying this never comes to the game.
At this point, what would even be added to other nations to counter it?
Gaijin certainly intends to implement this F-22A in the future. It’s only a matter of time.
You know that the United States is not the only country actively developing and fielding next-generation fighters, right? There are other nations that are capable of doing those, like Russia and China.
Aircraft such as the Su-57 Felon, J-20 Mighty Dragon, Shenyang J-35, and various foreign-operated F-35 Lightning IIs will serve as natural counters. This would set the final stage for what could become the pinnacle of top-tier air battles in the future, at least until the sixth-generation fighters become a thing.
The addition of such content is inevitable and cannot be reasonably opposed, in my opinion.
In my eyes there are 2 things wrong with adding this generation of fighters
1: they are new, thus most of the specifications are state secret. This will just result in millions of posts on this forum with ‘‘incorrect this incorrect that’’ while they have either no source or a confidential source…
2: with the current battle rating system we have in warthunder it would make BRs close to this one insanely aggravating when you keep meeting for example a F22/35 in a Su27SM.
In short, game simply isn’t ready for it
I don’t see it as a huge issue but I think they should have their own tier so 5th gens would only really see other 5th gens unless they decided to add very early variants and then it should only be in a full downtier scenario. Limiting the F-22 for example only to the earliest AIM-120C’s does nothing for balance against a Rafale, EX or EFT when they still can’t see it.
Further to that, at this supposed top bracket, pretty much anyone with F-35 would be at a disadvantage, worse airframe, slow, supposedly not stealthier in the frontal aspect than the F-22, limited to just 4 missiles internally until the Sidekick upgrade comes around and then it would depend on who buys it.
Comparatively the F-22 has pretty much everything you could want except for IRST and I know they’re working on that, but 6 AMRAAM plus 2 sidewinders, it’s also the fastest. J-35 is mach 2, more missiles, definitely more agile, J-20 has loads of missiles, its also faster, not a clue on its respective agility.
SU-57 is anyone’s guess.
Definitely think it will be hard to balance.
I understand your concerns, but this isn’t new territory for Gaijin. There are already MBTs and other vehicles in the game that only entered service as recently as last year, with many of their specifications still classified. While it might seem like comparing apples to oranges, implementing 5th-gen fighters in War Thunder is not as complex as it may appear for Gaijin.
It’s possible the flight performance can be modelled very closely to reality, aside from a few specific aspects. RCS will almost certainly be a balancing lever left to Gaijin’s discretion due to its classified nature, so this will render “incorrect this incorrect that” complaints to be locked up by forum mods.
As for the Su-27SM, I believe it’s an outlier. I doubt it will face fifth-gen fighters directly. However, aircraft like the Su-35S and other late 4.5-generation platforms certainly will.
I agree! I’d prefer Gaijin to take their time fleshing out the rest of the 4.5-generation content first. Once that is complete and players start asking for more, then the transition to fifth-generation fighters will feel natural.
Your assessment seems fair to me. There’s no doubt that the F-22 will have a higher BR than the F-35 variants.
pofacets 4.3 banked it at -17.7 in my experience.
i just eyballed the graph and came around -15dbsm
