dont ac-130’s actually have a2a missiles?
No
oh wait nvw was thinking of flight of the old dog where they stepped aim 9’s to a b-52 XD
-1 as a tech tree researchable vehicle or premium aircraft. Like the AC-130U, this aircraft is too niche for War Thunder, as it’s specifically designed for special operations to support special forces and requires absolute air superiority.
On other hand, I wouldn’t mind if it’s implemented similarly to strike drones, costing around 500 to 1,000 spawn points to deploy in the ground battles. I’ll give it a +1 for that implementation.
Which is why you should just research it and then just use it as CAS in ground RB but still have it in the air tech tree.
New toy for the Ghostrider:
Black Arrow Small Cruise Missile
- 200 mile cruise missile that would allow it to strike any point across the map.
interesting, but i think most cool variants of AC-130 should be on 8.7 maximum cause slow and huge target. But at least it will be interesting
The problem with this its that spaa spawns with spawn protection and takes it down easily.
But still would be nice to see it.
This aircraft on 10.0-10.3 can be invulnerable for every SPAA except Tor.
Pretty sure a Gepard can kill it with the 35mm canons with its tracking system and low speed of the target.
What are u doing on range of Gepard?
+1 Would be a funny squadron vehicle
For a direct hit with the 105mm canon or the 40mm bofors, I assume u have to be close enough for a gepard to shoot u down.
And well if you talking about the hellfire yeah u right i suppose.
You can shoot from 3-4km away, and just make slight changes in heading that will cause the Gepard to miss completely. The real danger is spaa with HE-VT and missiles
I think this thing have a lot of stuff to destroy every SPAA outside of theirt range. AGM-114, GBU-39 with laser seeker, GM-176 griffing, Viper Strike. Also DIRCM to protect against smth like ozelot.
