we got the official confirmation, while the norwegian side skirts do in fact appear bigger then the german ones, its cause the side skirts are only storage for snow grousers.
From recent 2a8 arrivials in norwegian

Any plans for Germany to possibly get the bigger side skirts? Honestly I kinda dig the look of them.

German 2a8 is getting MUSS LWS.
There is projects for 2a7V and 2aX to receive MUSS 2.0 APS
