Leopard 2 new big frontal weakspot

have you never fight/play 2a7v or 122’s? its often to get shot in the turret cause its the most reliable spot to disable them

also this spot already exists on the live server it just doesnt show up as green on protection analysis

Lmao i hope thats a bug.

@Godvana, wanna have a laugh?

yeah I know, so why would someone do that but worse

you dont disable the fcs in 2a5+

i played like 80 matches in leo 2a5 (benelux one), the only time i had my gun disabled was when either breech or barrel got destroyed

i belive, (with no proof rn, because i didnt test it) that destroying FCS in different vehicles disables different stuff, same as irl, some tanks cant fire without fcs, and some have manual override over fcs to be able to shoot

so am I just hallucinating?

you are correct, its supposed to be realistic as to what is controlled electronically with no manual backups for each tank

going into xray and hovering over the FCS is supposed to tell you what it controls, and this works for some things (2S38) but not the leopard 2a7 ig

well, in live currenlty the is behnd 600+mm of armor, so it rarely, if can, be damaged

try shooting the same exact spot as what i show and see if it disable fcs or not

the armour values have not changed on the dev server, just the 3D model of the FCS module, its a lot smaller on the live server and clipping through the armour but on the dev server its bigger and actually takes up the space it is supposed to

top is live bottom is dev

considering the FCS was clipping through the armour before this is a good change, and it wont really change anything, I doubt people are going to shoot a difficult weakpoint that has less payoff than just shooting around the breech or the lfp, considering FCS is one of the fastest to repair modules and it doesnt damage any crew

haha lmao.
I hope this is a bug, because in reality the sight was moved up specifically to eliminate the vulnerability. There’s additional armor behind the sight as well.

yes, but this is the fire control system not the sight, the armour is still there, the rounds fired to not penetrate into the crew compartment, they only damage the FCS

And where FCS for ussr tanks?
Again only nato get this nerf cool
Abrams even have not fcs-battery
other nato mbt have not fcs too
double standart typically

Very funny to me that the FCS on the leopards has so much random junk attached to it all over the place so a random HE round might just knock it out randomly now.

Same deal the gunhouse is shot very often by players on the M1 to try and bounce the round into the ammo, but I guess gaijin disliked it not crippling the tank and made the entire gunhouse tied to the FCS now, including the backup sight somehow.

The total lack of fire control on Ruski tanks along with the hydraulicly driven T series tanks not producing fire when shot is also hilarious.

All T series tanks using the current autoloader should catch fire when shot because they are hydraulicly actuated just like the standard gaijin applied to the M1’s turret drives which combust like a dying star if hit, but nope, I guess Russia can make hydraulic fluid that does not catch fire.

And loader’s pult in leopard 2

They shouldn’t be able to damage FCS from that angle in the first place.

FCS sits behind main+Arrowhead armor which makes it immune to any direct shot to turret, what’s funny is Despte bein one of most modern leopard model 2A7V still has worse armor profile than 122’s.

That hydraulic pump on the Abrams started to piss me off, even when the basket is damaged but not disabled i can’t turn my turret and it catches fire and if you don’t extenguish it at the right time you die and it literally turns red after the slightest damage.

everytime i got shot in an abrams i always have to press 6 to exstinguished fire
the probability is somewhere around 99%
