AVRE was D-day, Victory day was a Yak-3
No it was not
Oh, my bad. I thought the Churchill AVRE involved the celebrations of the Victory in Europe.
bit too much for a T-34-85
Victory day is always soviet vehicle, which is understandable. But if they knew they would add another soviet vehicle for VD, they could have made something else for the Battle Pass and maybe actually given us something that isn’t a boring copy paste like T-43 or KV-13
Just take a look at suggestions page for soviet tanks. There is just so many unqiue and interesting soviet WW2 vehicles to add. Why do we get boring copy paste that no one ever asked for?
never ever
Understandable, the vehicle could be a battlepass and the profile picture a Pages of History. Hopefully the next ground event vehicle is something else that can offer a good and new gameplay to everyone.
Istg if the next ground event is something like yet another Swedish centurion or Japanese sherman i am quitting the game for good
The sewer that is the gaijin event never fails to disappoint…
I’ve been playing since 2013, and not once have I seen an event for U.S. Independence Day, or for British, Japanese, Chinese, or any other national day that actually includes a vehicle reward. It’s always just a decal at most.
But when it’s a Russian holiday? Suddenly there’s a new vehicle, decals, portraits, and more. Gaijin claims they have no special ties to Russia, but it’s painfully obvious they’re giving far more attention to Russian content than to any other nation. Even when classified documents are leaked about U.S. tanks they ignore them. But if it’s Russian documents — often questionable or unreliable — they seem to accept every word as gospel. It’s really sad to see what this company has become.
This aint it. We already have a T-34/85 as a premium in both the Soviet and Chinese trees.
Itd be one thing if this vehicle had something different about it, bit this is just a copy paste with extra decals that couldve been added to a standard T-34/85.
Don’t confuse national independence days and the victory over Nazi Germany. It was the Soviet Union that resisted Germany throughout the war and made the main contribution to the victory. On Russia’s Independence Day, these are all decals too.
Thanks for the response, but I think you’re missing the actual point I’m raising.
I’m not confusing national holidays with historical events like Victory Day. What I’m pointing out is the clear pattern in how different nations are treated in War Thunder. Russian-related events — like Victory Day — often get significant in-game content, including vehicles, portraits, and more, while events for other countries (like U.S. Independence Day, D-Day, or Japanese and Chinese national days) usually receive just a decal, if anything at all.
Saying the Soviet Union made the “main contribution” in WWII is a historical perspective, but it shouldn’t be used to justify why only one nation regularly receives major rewards. Many countries contributed significantly to the war effort, and if Gaijin truly wants to present a balanced, global view of history, then in-game content should reflect that — not appear biased.
Also, saying that Russia’s Independence Day only gets decals doesn’t address the bigger issue — Russian vehicles and events consistently get more attention and content, while other nations are sidelined. That’s what long-time players are noticing, and that’s where the frustration is coming from.
But of course. Don’t you know that russia won WW2 all by itself? Austria superman cried and ran away when he saw commie superman’s bigger super stache. True excerpt from official russian school textbooks.
You see, the holidays you’re talking about are national. While the victory over Germany is a world event. In any case, name me at least one more event when the USSR receives vehicle.
Sweet, I hate grinding ground events and this is one I can totally ignore
It’s not a joke, but their textbooks say they defeated Japan too xdd
I understand what you’re saying, but the issue isn’t about whether the event is national or a world event. It’s about consistency and balance in the rewards for different countries. If Gaijin is going to celebrate WWII and the victory over Germany, it should feel like a more global commemoration — not just a celebration of one nation.
As for your question, Russia gets vehicles during events like Victory Day, and that’s a regular occurrence. Compare this to other nations, like the U.S., where Independence Day or Memorial Day don’t have vehicle rewards, or events for countries like Britain, Japan, or China, where vehicle rewards are rare.
The main concern here is that the balance feels off, and it’s frustrating to see some nations constantly getting major rewards, while others are left with just a decal. It’s not about debating who contributed more in WWII — it’s about giving all nations fair and equal treatment in-game.
They legally can’t use any information from them if they are classified and that puts the security of the US and NATO nations who utilize American equipment at risk
Gaijin Entertainment was founded in Russia
Russia was fighting Japan for a very short period of time (officially declaring war on August 8th, the day before Nagasaki was bombed) and America received scrutiny for their use of the atom bomb due to them not giving Russia any ounce of notice and using them to sorta “speedrun victory” as the allied powers were already not very happy with having the Soviets included in peace talks. Infact, the reason their V-Day is celebrated on the 9th was because Soviet officials were not included in the day prior’s official surrender, and as such they had to hold their own private surrender. This is also because the initial surrender gave the Soviets little control over what would occur
