Leaopard II D-tech wrong implementation

The issue is most prevalent on leopards, a shot to the flat side of the turret or hull sometimes results in “hit” w/ no damage or penetration. Happens on all vehicles but most often on leopards it seems. Feels like the Tiger 2 driver port all over again and makes shooting a leopard in the side a gamble sometimes.

Fuel tanks + bulkheads eating up the spall, on the 2A7V they’ve also got spall liners and additional composite so there’s that. I asked because your context was lacking, this:

I wonder if the ballistics causing constant non penetrations in certain angles that should clearly go through have something to do with why Gaijin isn’t modeling it better.

Tells me nothing about what you actually want to know.

When it happens it usually doesn’t make it into the spall liners, fuel tanks, bulkheads, whatever.

How does it not? Have you compared the current 2A4’s armor efficiency to other similar era composites in the game? I’d be curious to see what you think of that.

I’m betting on volumetric and server desyncs eating up the projectile. Has happened to me when playing against (majorly) Type 90s, these seem to be straight up mythical with how many shots they can soak up without having any damage done to them. Heck, you can shot them thru the turret front with M829A2 and do zero damage.

Other examples that I can remember, are the side-skirts on the M1s, and the sides of Strv 122s.

Leopard 2A4 on the other hand, I’ll be honest with you, is a super old model, chances are Gaijin has simply not updated it in the slightest and its still driving around with the same exact presets that it did back in 2018, when KEP eating was a norm. It’s been a problem causer for ages, for example, its lower front used to generate ‘negative’ spall like a year back.

But when I play the Type 90s…

Right lol

I mean, that’s the case with many tanks, people can’t kill you because they don’t know where to shoot (i suffer from this with the abrams sometimes in side aspect).
These days in my 2a7v unless i stick to hull down or go side aspect and hope the spall liner saves me i get 1 tapped >50% of the time.
You can get penetrated trough the edges of the composite screen (through the wedges) near the breach and 1 tapped (hull down) frontally trough the lower part of the gun breach, which yes while much smaller that the Abrams neck weak spot still kills you.

It’s not a matter of hitting the wrong spot, it simply doesn’t go through any armor at all and disappears with the normal “hit” notif.

Oh, that’s just the game being buggy, the era and tracks on T series sometimes act better than spall liners, deleting all spall my apfsds generates.
Even though it went trough the hull armor, not generating any additional spall, i think that might be happening in your case too.

I actually sometimes want to rip my hair out after my shot goes through in a perfect side shot on a T series and literally does fuck all, at least when i put 4 shots in an Abrams i know it’s a targeting issue.

Need I remind you of the Typhoon thread. Hypocrite

I think we can agree the ground development is considerably worse than the air

Yeah but i love both

Well since you said this, I’m gonna screenshot it the next time you derail a thread in the future. 🫡

Be warned we have eyes everywhere

or his stupid “sensor fusion” crap were he wasnt able to acknowledge that its still considered as sensor fusion

Supercruising and sensor fusion might as well be in cantonese for him

Same happens to me, dw. I’ve a bit over 100 games in the Type 90 and when I play it, nothing of the sort happens, but when I play against it, boyyyy.

report all you want if they don’t want something it’s not getting added

Every Nation needs to take a stand against this butchery of our beloved vehicles. Tanks like the Merkava can’t even stop 9.0 weaponry.
