Description: The CL51 is an Italian military truck made by the Italian company Lancia after the Second World War. It’s development started in the 1950s, when the Italian army requested a new truck to replace the various old WW2 allied trucks that had been in service with the Italian army since 1946. Those old units were in a pretty bad state, so they had to be replaced as soon as possible. In 1951, the Italian army assigned the construction of the new truck to two companies: Officine Meccaniche di Brescia (Mechanical Workshops of Brescia) and Lancia. It is not clear how many units the Italian army ordered, since very few documents are available, but probably more than 1000 units, given the fact that it was made to replace a lot of older units. From various reports, we can say that the vehicle was used until the early eighties and was later replaced with the Iveco VM90. During the service with the Italian army, it was used for different roles, such as troop transport, mobile medical units, radio stations, and others. As far as we know, only a single armed configuration was tested on it, a set of 20x 81mm Hispano-Suiza rifles. The vehicle is also used a lot by both private and civilian people these days.

Why it should be in game: it could be one of the few rokets launchers that Italy could get in the ww2-early cold war range of br. It could be implemented as an event or premium veichle, like the type75.
