KPz T-34-85M (East Germany)

I’m gonna have to -1 this, it has no gameplay-relevant changes from a regular T-34-85. I do want east german tanks but not straight copy paste.

I think that will be an “only” for me. Pretty much an identical T-34-85M can be added to Russia, so unless we have the option for this unique East German modification I’m not sure I will support this suggestion.

Ah, why not? More GDR stuff is always appreciated. Have my +1, especially if we get the variant with the T-54 engine. And a +1 for the boat kit

It is different from a standard T-34-85.

It is a T-34-85 with a higher top speed and a faster turret rotation. It is essentially a T-34-85 Gai with no DShK. And unlike the Gai, this one should be modelled to have smoke canisters.

It could also potentially use HEAT shells, that the Soviets developed for their T-34-85s.

I think no. While I fully support the addition of most GDR tanks, I am not a fan of WWII vehicle families, with the exception of maybe something like an IS-2 (because that’s just cool). Germany isn’t exactly lacking 6.0 medium tanks, and adding a postwar T-34 there would be really put of place amongst the WWII vehicles especially fighting the Soviet WWII T-34s and particularly causing issues in Sim.

That being said it would be kinda funny for Germany to have both the best T-34-76 and best T-34-85.

Good suggestion and a great vehicle idea! Always in support of more GDR vehicles.

If it comes with those HEAT shells I would change my vote to a +1.

So a 6.0 T-34-85?

If it gets HEAT I don’t see why not, although I think it should start as a 5.7. If the Soviets also get their T-34-85 Model 1969 with HEAT, then 6.0 would make sense.

Possibly, T-34-85M would be a nice filler.

Aren’t these just T-34-85 1960 and 1969 in German service?

Yes and no, I have a pending T-34-85 Model 1969 suggestion. It will go into detail.

Does the 69 model get the 75mm ufp?

I personally think the T-34B from Yugoslavia is pretty cool, I hope to see that one added as a premium or event.

Not sure what you mean. But, the 69 model is the ultimate T-34-85. Only surpassed by a Polish M2, which only adds fording ability.

I meant, does it have 75mm of armor on the upper frontal plate instead of 45mm?

60s models don’t even have that much. The hull remained unchanged. Which T-34 does?

I think it was the prototype which had that type of armor
