I do hope this guy realizes that the two main companies in charge of this development, Nexter (french) and KMW (German) Merged last year right?
Last I checked it is a bit later than 2016.
+1 Would love to see the EMBT get added for both nations at some point.

For German top tier there are only demonstrators and prototypes left iirc, so maybe we will see this one. Tho looking at way GJ adds things, this one will probably will be in some event or as a premium.
Germany is actually one of the nations that has gone the furthest in this direction. At least it produce several new vehicle, having clear and better-documented specifications.
The US next-generation tank is still not a fielded vehicle, AbramsX is only a demonstrator, and Russia’s T-14 has only been produced in very limited numbers with unclear data, while China’s Type 100 has already entered service.
Germany still has several realistic Leopard 2 options around the 2A7V level, such as the 2A7A1, 2A6EX, 2A7+, and especially the 2A8. The 2A8 already has confirmed orders and deliveries have started with Norway, so it is the one that should be added now.
Produced 2A7A1 and 2A8 are left besides demonstrators like KF51s and other 2Ax prototypes / demonstrators.

There’s no official 2a8 delivery what went to Norway were trial units not finished 2a8s iirc
The first two delivered leo are not prototypes but the first delivered vehicles from Norway’s 54-tank order.
