I found this one,

Still not official. If it isn’t directly from SAAB or an actual publication it won’t get accepted in a bug report.
It’s a pity, I thought there would finally be a strong attack aircraft for Sweden
I’ve seen a few images but I think there are some with and some without the extended edge thing… I suppose it will just be up to what version the dev want to add. Maybe they’re saving that for a more modern addition with the more modern A2A weapons later in line ?
Speaking of images with and without, I think there are a couple pics of 6002 without the IRST too. Which makes sense if 6002 is a testbed.
Yep, you can find images of the different testbeds with a lot of different configurations depending on when the image was taken. The new trailing edge flaps was something added after a while but almost all E versions have it now since they retrofitted it to all the previously produced ones as well.
until meteor is added in the future yes
I don’t see the relevancy of adding this “NG” to the game? It’s mostly just a marketing name of the testbed prototype under development, which was also referred to as the 39E even back then… Why? To cling onto some old sheet stating a lower weight before they actually accounted for the weight of all the upgrades? You could maybe argue exactly what SAAB means by “basic empty weight” and look into what the new avionics actually weigh but other than that it makes sense for the empty weight to be 8000kg as stated by SAAB
6002 is the default paintjob???
Huh, thought it’d be a separate skin for GE and kills
From the versions I have found so far, there are three states for the 6002. As you mentioned, there is the one without the IRST, the current state in the game, and the 2025 RIAT state.
consequence of all those people who were asking for NG instead of E on the forum
Does it also slave chaff to radar missiles?
Is the radar scaled correctly with the map? And is the map stuck with that small size?
Have they updated the HMD?
According to Saab’s website, the BOL system is integrated into the Gripen pylons or launchers.
This means it can be used regardless of whether the pylon carries an air to air missile or an air to ground weapon.
As long as the pylon is BOL compatible, the type of secondary armament does not affect its use.
Yeah they want to force it as Gripen E (early) basically or some pre-production version
No.
Great this can be used in a repport
I know there are interviews by engineers and pilots by SAAB where they go into detail regarding the countermeasure and EW system, where they explicitly explain some of its capabilities. But those can probably not be used in reports right?
I think only if they are posted officially by SAAB but even then there might be some restrictions on how much of that the devs can use, not sure.
Can be integrated sure, the issue is BOL is rail mounted meaning its a integral part of the rail system dedicated to AIM-120/AIM-9/IRIS-T/Meteor missiles. Everything that the rail wont hold, also wont have the countermeasures.
