Honestly, the Japanese should get a premium P-40E in a folder with a premium P-40N-5. Both of these aircraft models entered Japanese service, so it’s not like the Swedish Tiger
Perhaps you could add that you suggest it as a premium vehicle :). Edit: My mistake. It was already suggested as such
Already did as mentioned in the summary section:
Furthermore, Grzegames has already suggested the Japanese P-40E and even proposed to add it as the premium aircraft.
Ayyyyyy mistake on my part, excuse me, corrected it. Thanks
It seems to me more and more that no one reads my suggestions with understanding.
Which would mean that Japan would get an American fighter before the US, which is, to put it bluntly, is very silly, especially as the N models were the last of the production models of the aircraft. So, unless you want to argue that Japan, somehow, is more deserving of having the best production P-40 then the US, when it was only ever a captured vehicle they poked around with and used for training, then it would be copy paste.
Moreover, Japan doesn’t need it in any regard. They have plenty of excellent indigenous aircraft as it stands within the tiers this aircraft would likely be placed at, both premium and tree. So all it would really be is unnecessary bloat that may stay there for an update or two before being removed by Gaijin from sale. So it’s a -1 from me.
You have a very interesting point of view. I never said that Japan should be the FIRST to get the P-40N. I only said that others could get better versions of it. In addition, the P-40N-5 model could be reused, with slight modifications, to add the rest of the P-40N versions.
Captured? Well as always my stance one those are +1 PB/Event reward.
At that point, I feel it’s splitting hairs. Even if it’s performance is slightly worse, it’s still a P-40N. Maybe it can be the early variants that had only 2 .50 cals, but, to be frank, that should also be represented in the US tech tree as losing those 2 .50s will give it a better BR.
And it isn’t as though Japan has any need for it either. They have plenty of excellent aircraft for both the tree and premiums as it is. All this would do is exacerbate the ongoing issue of copy paste as it is.
Dude, not to say anything, but you just confirmed that you didn’t even read the suggestion. I don’t mean to be mean, but start reading with comprehension.
No, I read it, and while I did misspeak in my previous comment, that does not change the fact that the reasons you gave arguing for it’s inclusion were weak. Japan has no need for the aircraft, and we are inundated with copy-paste vehicles as it is.
Tell me how many planes did Japan get in the last update? Tell me how many planes did Japan get last year (not counting Thailand). As a player playing as Japan, I want to see at least one plane for Japan per update. I just want to play with planes used by the Japanese, whether they are domestically produced (the Gajin hate those), captured, purchased, or even Copy Paste. I am a player and I write suggestions because I like it. I don’t care if the vehicle is Copy Paste or something else. I have written over 150 suggestions and I plan to write just as many, just for Japan alone, the fact that a percentage of them are Copy Paste means nothing.
To be perfectly frank, that’s irrelevant. Copypaste is still copypaste. While I understand your frustration over Gaijin not giving Japan enough attention, that does not suddenly make this a good idea or suggestion.
I’d also say it’s hypocritical to be advocating for copy paste captured aircraft, and then turn up your nose to the Thai subtree. They are about as Japanese as the aircraft that were captured, and while Japan didn’t use those aircraft, the aircraft that they captured aren’t much better, rarely being used for anything beyond OPFOR training and evaluation for weaknesses. And when they were used for something beyond that, it rarely went beyond being used as a transport craft.
That’s not what I had in mind with the Thai subtree. Thailand was needed by Japan. I didn’t really want it to be considered when counting added planes for Japan. Counting trees added two updates ago doesn’t really address the real problem of not adding content. You can focus on it too much.
I can understand not considering subtrees as true NATION content. What I can’t understand is holding such a stance while also considering captured premiums as “content” for Japan when the only thing that is Japanese about them is the camo.
There’s also a Japanese pilot :3. And now seriously, I don’t feel like arguing about it. I’m too lazy for that.
We don’t need more copy paste/captured vehicles/lend-lease that makes visual IFF worse and worse.
It’s bad enough that I see blue plane with american roundels so I engage as if it was american then learn its a zero, or see a twin-boom fighter and assume it’s friendly and get slapped by chinese p38.
Still hypocritical, to be perfectly honest.
I understand. I’m not going to argue any further. Call this suggestion anything you want, even a violation of the Geneva Convention. To me, it’s just a historical curiosity.
I believe copy-paste vehicles have place in War Thunder but within the limits of being event or premium. There is history to such vehicles, which the proposal in this case embodies. I do not think as I did that mistake to say it should not be added. It just should not be added as a main tech tree vehicle. As per Subtrees for airplane tech trees, unless one plays arcade vehicle line ups do not matter and as such lacking planes is more justifiable.
Thank you for understanding :).
