JA37C / JA37D - Rb99 Discussion & Future changes

Well… as it stands from this photo there’s a lack of micron filters in the seeker glass, (which by the way makes a “multi element seeker” for anyone who wants to say magic 2 has FOV gating and inertial IRCCM)

((On top of that inertial IRCCM isn’t a real concept, phase modulation and digitally managed cross array are what FOV gating and inertial IRCCM are “based” on))

it has two main versions

  1. hide the aircraft by jamming
  2. deceive a radar lock by making it think its somewhere else

wdym by DRFM?

it wont be anything cool, there needs decompression for it to even stand a chance

We all want decompression but lets be real, its a fever dream at this point.

Digital-radio-frequency-memory, basically it allows the jammer to actively react to ECCM elements instead of just having preset frequency modes, really useful for radars in the 13.0 range that rely exclusively on frequency hopping for their ECCM

oh right yes most likely if they add it to an old viggen instead of adding a new one for one thing, again

Yea, one thing that the OTIS testbed could get in theory is the lena towed decoy, it was supposed to become operational in the late 80s but it was canned for cost concerns :(

It was never mounted onto the OTIS testbed but… who cares?? SU-30SM and SU-27SM have the twin adder pylons that only the SU-35S can carry and aren’t even operational yet…

Does anyone know if the RWR on the JA37D DI is correct? I’ve been thinking about buying it but that RWR sounds like a pain to have to use in 13.0-14.0

I would not buy the premium JA37DI. Too expensive for what you get and doesn’t sit too well in it’s BR from what I have found. Need to fly the tech tree version a bit more first to actually determine that though. Still damned expensive.

Yep, i was mainly considering it for if it ever goes on sale

It is both correct and not correct

Created the report 5 months ago and it’s still not even been acknowledged …

The RWR of the Viggen D is the one single issue that makes me not fly it

There are many issues with them atm but i still fly it

At least HUD got some sort of target tracker after all those years. Its incorrectly modelled and missing many other features but at least you get that extra awareness in sim

Is there any more info on the Rb71B? I know it was an upgraded Rb71, but thats all i know. Does anyone have any more specs abt it? Also info on the Rb-73 on the viggen platform would be appreciated

Aside from the fact it did happen and there was no engine upgrade (just refurb) no
